Hi everybody!

As always, we've been working on further improving the game, and here is a public beta for the upcoming 5th patch, version 25.5.66. Please give it a try and report bugs here if you'd like to help

Use this at your own risk! Please back up important league files before loading them in this beta.

Changelists 25.5.66:

PT: Fixed fake players appearing after the season
PT: Fixed pack purchase display in some resolutions
PT: Fixed some cases of combinator points mismatches
PT: Added preview of combinator levels in combinator card shop

Misc bugfixes & tweaks

How to access the beta on Steam:
  • Quit OOTP 25 if it's running.
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 25
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab. Here, enter the following code / password: ootp25betapt
  • Click on "Check code"
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "publicbeta".
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build.
Update Info for our webstore customers: To apply the update, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. Updates always contain all the changes from previous updates. Saved games are compatible between different versions.

Download link for PC Beta (Fastspring Webstore Version):
Main server: PC Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.5.66/ootp25setup.exe

Here's a PC installer (Fastspring) that installs into a single folder, which is useful for external HDs for example. Or for creating a second test install of the game, so you can try the patch out without the risk of messing up your main install of the game if something is wrong in the patch:
PC Single Folder Installer

Download link for Mac (FastSpring):
Main Server: Mac OSX Installer
Mirror: http://ootpdevfiles.com/ootp/25.5.66...5Installer.dmg

Please post here if you have any issues or if you run into major bugs. Thanks! If all goes well, then we will launch the patch officially Monday, as a required update for PT users. The final patch (new build) will also contain some more changes for the PT Combinator, which Matt will explain below.

Cheers,
The OOTP Team

PT Changes coming Monday May 27

There will be a few small changes to team chemistry and card combinator behavior coming on Monday with the anticipated full release of the patch.

Card Combinators:

The minimum sale price for combinators will change to the following:
Iron Combinator Cards: 2k
Bronze Combinator Cards: 5k
Silver Combinator Cards: 10k
Gold, Diamond, Perfect Combinator cards: No change
This only impacts the minimum sale price of the combinator cards. Note that this will impact cards already listed for sale (so if an iron card was listed at 5001, if it sells after the change was made, the seller will receive 4500 from that sale).

Combinator and Chemistry relations

For both combinator purposes and for the purposes of team chemistry, Negro Leagues card relations to each other are changing from a base of 5 points for (same card type) to 25 points. When used in combinator runs, note that this value is then multiplied by the card tier when determining the total points. For example, using a bronze Negro Leagues card to boost another Negro Leagues combinator will be valued at 50 points (25 [base] * 2 [bronze]) plus any other bonuses applicable (year/same team/etc...)

This change will be updated on the server on Monday morning, and will impact league and tournament play (for chemistry relations) when updated. Clients will be required to update to the latest version (released on Monday) in order to connect to PT, as the above changes require the client and server to stay in sync.

Patch installation error - facegen zip file

When I installed this new patch, before the game initialized, I was noitified that there was a patch installation error on the facegen zip file. That is all I can report at this time, as all else seems to be going smoothly.

Is the disappearing ball issue fixed as part of the "in-game / 3D tweaks"?

If this could please be confirmed because that issue has held me off from updating to the last patch. Want to be sure it's been corrected before updating.

schedules for standard game

Will the schedules be fixed for the regular MLB saves? 3 game series often start on Saturday and wrap around to Monday instead of Friday thru Sunday.

There seems to be issues with pitcher position causing them to be unsigned. Specifically there are pitchers who are clearly better relievers then those on major league rosters. They are unsigned for multiple years and have a position of SP. If I go and edit the pitcher to be an RP they instantly signed by the computer. I am not sure why this makes any difference.

Dev lab sends a significant number of pitchers to learn defense at pitcher. I think it may be related to two way players but is it super weird looking.

Overall why I think this is a MASSIVE step forward for relievers there is still way too many terrible relievers being used in the majors. May be a result of whatever reason these starters are sitting in free agency unsigned but not totally clear.

This is honestly the last bug holding me back so I appreciate getting it this much closer to fully playable.

There's no way to bring back the old "Generate Schedule" where it would mix up a default schedule? It was that way for years.

Looks like an attempt was made to fix the uniform pants and socks issues, but the pants "sorta" works and the socks don't. The basic problem is the menu options don't do what they say they will do.

Caps and Jerseys work just fine but we end up with some pretty strange uniforms on the field.

CORRECTION:
The "Pants" options do appear to work - at least I was able to get what I wanted. The "Socks" options, however, are messed up. Once you pick an option, you can't turn it off, and the SELECT button messes up the colors using the wrong templates.

Any work towards fixing the IAFA max cap coming out of Future accounting when the team budgeted less (especially when in the penalty)?

Three game weekend series are usually Friday-Sunday, with Sunday getaway day game.

Friday thru Sunday is normal for weekend series. With Monday and Thursday being the two most common off days.

I think he is saying the game has teams playing Saturday-Monday. He wants it to be Friday-Sunday.

Hmmm, you might be right. I guess he could be saying that. One of those open to interpretation things.... and if that's the case he'd be absolutely right. Fri-Sun is how it should be.

Is any work continuing for player development? I am still never seeing hardly any drafted or scout find players every developing... even with best coaches and high development budget.

The only way around it so far is to only draft college players who have already progressed towards potential.

After 5 or 6 seasons I should see at least someone ready to make a major league contribution, but nothing. Every single HS draftee ends up a bust, and since nearly every draftee is HS age....

The schedule issue is a bit of a bugaboo. Usually, the minor leagues are always off on Mondays. It gets a little off and makes managing the minors a bit difficult. But yeah, usually series wrap on Sunday during the weekend instead of Monday in the majors.
