The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired left-handed relief pitcher Tanner Scott from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for outfielder Brandon Marsh.
Scott, 31, has spent the last two seasons as the closer for the D'backs totaling 83 saves in that span.
In 2025, he pitched in 62 games going 4-2 with 41 saves and a 0.87 ERA.
Scott broke into the majors in 2017 with the Baltimore Orioles. He also played two seasons with the Miami Marlins.
In 433 career games, Scott is 29-28 with 116 saves and a 3.32 ERA.
The Cardinals acquired Marsh in an offseason trade with the Philadelphia Phillies prior to the 2024 season.
The hope was he could hold down the center-field job.
Marsh could not even hold down a spot in the majors.
In 49 games/42 starts with St. Louis, Marsh hit just .197 with two home runs and 13 RBIs.
He played better in Memphis, hitting .285 with 15 homers and 54 RBIs, but when called back to the majors did nothing to give hope could succeed at that level.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed reliever Sandi Charle from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for minor leaguers outfielder Petey Halpin, starting pitcher Conner Lunn and catcher Chase Adkison.
Signed by the Angels as a free agent in 2019, Charle, 23, broke into the majors in 2025.
He pitched in 46 games going 6-3 with five saves and a 3.94 ERA.
Halpin, who the Cardinals acquired in a June 2025 trade with Cleveland, spent the entire season in AAA playing with Columbus (Guardians) and Memphis (Cardinals).
The 23-year-old played in a combined 129 games and hit .250 with five home runs and 44 RBIs.
Taken in the fifth round of the 2019 draft by St. Louis, Thomas, 27, has spent the last three seasons at AAA Memphis.
In 2025, he made 30 starts and went 11-9 with a 5.16 ERA.
Adkision, 25, signed as a free agent with St. Louis in 2023.
He split the 2025 season between low-A Palm Beach an High-A Peoria,
In 93 games, he hit .253 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired right-handed relief pitcher Prelander Berroa from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for minor league outfielder Jay French and third baseman Eric Bitoni.
Signed as a free agent by the Minnesota Twins in 2016 and who eventually wound up in Oakland in 2023, Berroa has spent parts of three seasons in the majors.
He pitched in two games with Seattle in 2023 before spending all of 2024 and 25 with Oakland.
In 2025, he worked in 59 games for the Athletics going 6-4 with 14 saves and a 3.72 ERA.
For his career, he has taken a major-league mound 108 times going 7-6 with 15 saves and a 3.73 ERA.
Signed out of an independent league by the Cardinals in 2024, French split the 2025 season between AA Springfield and AAA Memphis.
In 81 games, he hit .252 with nine home runs and 34 RBIs.
Drafted by Milwaukee in the third round, the Cardinals acquired the 20-year-old Bitoni in a trade with the Brewers in June of 2025.
He split the 2025 season in rookie ball for both clubs.
In 81 games, .170 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs.

The St. Louis Cardinals have acquired OF/IF Jazz Chisholm from the Miami Marlins in exchange for minor-league left-handed pitcher Matthew Liberatore and low-level outfielder Konnor Griffin.
Chisholm, 27, can play all three outfield positions along with second base.
In 2025, he played in 156 games for Miami and hit .247 with 23 home runs and 71 RBIs.
He broke into the majors in 2020 and over his career has hit .245 with 104 homers and 302 RBIs in 612 games/579 starts.
Acquired in a 2023 trade with Tampa Bay, Liberatore, 26, has had a couple of chances to pitch in the majors and has not done much with them.
In 31 games/18 starts, with the Cardinals Liberatore has gone 5-8 with a 5.51 ERA.
Last season at AAA Memphis, he was 14-8 with a 4.42 ERA in 29 starts.
The second-overall pick in the 2024 draft, Griffin spent a little over a season playing in the Cardinals' minor-league system.
In that time, all spent in rookie ball, he has hit just .226 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs.

Tenabe, 32, has been with the Rangers since the 2023 season.
In 85 games, he has gone 6-10 with 16 saves and a 3.36 ERA.
Acquired in a 2023 trade with Cincinnati, Naughton 29, also has bounced back and fourth between the majors and AAA.
In 49 games with St. Louis, he has gone 0-8 with one save and a 5.52 ERA.
