Schedule Issue
Is anyone else's schedule have games a day later than they are supposed to be? If so has anyone found a way to fix it quickly?

Mine did as well. Season starts on Friday ...
rather than Thursday, which knocks everything off by a day. There are a bunch of Friday off days during the season that should be Thursdays, Tuesday off days that should be Mondays. The All-Star Game is on Wednesday, instead of Tuesday.
I don't know of a way to fix it other than deleting the schedule and reloading it, but that would create new schedule rather than the correct one for 2024. |

Schedule Issue
I have the same problem. Had it with my imported save, and tested it with a new game. Everything including the All Star Game is a day later than it should be. I have messed around with it, but haven't found a fix. I'm wondering if this being a leap year, it threw something off with the coding of the schedule or something.

Hmm. Wonder if it has anything to do with 2024 being a leap year

If someone opens up the schedule file, copies the header information, and pastes that into a new post, we can figure out where the problem is. Remember, this season features the two overseas opening games in Korea on Wed. Mar. 20 and Thu. Mar. 21, with the remainder of the schedule opening on Thu. Mar. 28. |

I think I figured out the issue, but still can't fix it.
Because the default "season start day" is Thursday under "options", but the Dodgers-Padres Korea Series actually starts on Wednesday, it's starting the Korea Series on Thursday, which pushes everything back a day.
I've tried clearing the schedule and re-loading it from the file, but it comes back in the same way every time. |

And now I've fixed it. Here's how ...
What you must do is go under MLB options (the little gear at the bottom of the 2nd side menu)
Then change "Force Start on Certain Weekday" to "Wednesday". Then unclick the checkmark for "Auto Adjust Date if Matching XML schedule found." (This is the key step). Then Go to "Edit League Schedule." "Clear League Schedule" under top right "Action" button. Then reload the 2024 schedule by choosing "Import from file" (again under "Action") and scrolling down through the various leagues' schedule files. Does that make sense? The simpler way is to change the header of the schedule file.

The early start overseas games were a pain back in the day when they played games in Japan. It meant that regular season games were being played while spring training games were still scheduled, IIRC. Is that an issue too, or did they do something in v25 to avoid the conflict.
In my MLB game that has become fictional through attrition ST runs to the end of March. Now that we have two new format "play everyone" schedules I planned on just switching between v24 and v25 schedules to get the every other year home games right. My first thought is to edit the schedule and move the overseas games and save to it's own file and totally avoid this. It's that or ST has to end sooner, I think? Mabye I'm missing an easier fix. In any case I'm glad I have a heads up before I get the game Friday.

Those games should be on Wednesday and Thursday U.S. time.

You mind explaining how to do that?

Sorry about the delay. That is correct. I thought at first it was because of my imported save. I tried with a brand new game and had the same issue. I still think the leap year has screwed something up with the scheduling code. But that's just my personal opinion. Hoping the devs have an easy fix for the issue.

It looks like, from reading what others have said, it’s the overseas games at the start of the year and not the leap year. I’m glad to hear it doesn’t appear to have anything to do with the leap year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

This will be fixed in the new build today, which we'll release in half an hour or so. Need to create a new game for the fix to stick, though.

MLB realized early on that it wasn't fair to have the two teams playing overseas cut down to their final 25 players a week before the other teams did, so it invented special roster rules to assist the two teams. The clubs playing overseas could bring 30 players with them, and all 30 could be used in any exhibition games played overseas. When it came to the regular season games, 28 of the 30 players were eligible to play in them. The day of the regular season game, the clubs had to select 25 of the 28 players for use, and it had to be the same 25 players in both games. In all respects the two games are counted as regular season MLB games. After the regular season overseas games, the roster went back up to 28, and all 28 players could be used in the spring training games played back in the U.S. The teams then had to cut down to their final 25 at the same time as the rest of the MLB clubs did, in preparation for the continental opening season date. These rules allowed the two clubs playing overseas to have 28 players for their final week, giving them some flexibility in assessing their talent prior to the start of the regular season in the U.S. Given that the active roster limit is now 26, presumably the aforementioned roster numbers will be increased by one (31 / 29 / 26) for the teams playing overseas. As to OOTP, it did NOT recreate these overseas roster rules previously, and I highly doubt it ever will. (There are certain fundamental roster transaction rules it has never recreated, despite both OOTP and the rules being around for a long time). For the best understanding, read the sections of the online manual related to schedules. The schedules and how they work will be demystified.

This may have been so long ago it was pre-rewrite, ie 6.5 or 6.0? In any case I recall just using schedules from earlier seasons to avoid any problems. Trouble being v24 was the first version with the "play everybody schedule" and that only covers one year. With v25 we get a second one so at least home/aways are balanced year to year, but v25 now has early games again. Since I don't have v25 until Friday I wonder how OOTP is handling this. Schedule ST to be over before the games are played? Coded something so they can be played during ST but counted as regular season? Something else? Since OOTP starts without ST I'm wondering isn't this going to cause issues in season two? Until I have v25 I can only speculate. The plan will be to move those early games to open days and if that has too many knock on effects, I'll move them to the two days before the "normal" season starts. It's not a big deal in the grand scope of things, but it sure reminded me of something I had totally forgotten about from a long ago version of the game.

The only workaround would be to move the overseas game to later in the regular season, and adjust the season opening date accordingly. I know for some of the other years with overseas openers someone posted modified schedule files which moved the overseas games to later in the season. I took a quick look at the 2024 schedule and there doesn't appear to be any perfectly convenient dates to the move the games to. So a measure of compromise would have to be judged acceptable. |
