Academic eligibility bug?
Love the college hockey system. Good work, guys.
I'm managing in Canadian U Sports. I got two messages saying players were academically ineligible and I could allow them to redshirt, or not, and if not they would leave the program. I allowed one of the two guys to redshirt. Both stayed on the roster, for the time being, with the appropriate NO in the eligibility column. But the guy I didn't allow to redshirt played in a preseason game. I just released him, so that's a workaround. It looks like the AI teams have allowed all of their ineligible players to redshirt. (So maybe I'm just an asshole, but the guy was using a half-scholarship and he had 1.5-star potential, so I kicked him out.) Is this working properly? Maybe he's eligible in preseason, but if he's leaving, why would my coach give him ice time in preseason? |

Yeah, if I remember correctly, the preseason games can use players who have that academic ineligibility marker. The coaching AI wouldn't take it into account when setting that lineup, and in fact will tend to make more use of the bottom end of the roster because it's the preseason.

Got it, thanks. The news message made it seem that clicking the "no" button on the redshirt option would send that player away.
