It seems like you manually schedule a playoff game if there is a tie atop the division. I believe that OOTP has an automatic tiebreaker game option in the event of a division tie, this way it would run smoothly without you having to do anything, and no risk of corrupting your league.

Might be so... maybe next year I'll just let the AI do it and see what happens.

I'd go that route rather than letting OOTP just do it thing, so you can be sure of what the issue was... Just my .02

The game leaves the sudden-death playoff games from the previous season in the schedule editor... this is the first year I forgot to remove the playoff games at the start of the season.

Yep, like you, I usually manually do things if I have a choice rather than let the AI do it.

I do the All-Star teams and pick the award winners.
