Thumbs up Wow, the 3D bugs are gone!

I just want to say thanks. Builds 37 and 38 were graphically buggy; the field would go black, players would disappear, etc. I was all geared up to be disappointed but to coin a phrase the release version knocked things out of the park (24.1 b39). I've tried the game in native Windoze and in a Windoze VMWare VM (Linux Host). It even seems to run blazingly fast in Wine, but crashes upon exiting. I'll investigate that further.

That's it. Thanks, guys!

We did get rid of a bunch, but there are still a few, unfortunately. We should have a patch out to fix those very soon.

The crash upon exit in Wine seems to have resolved itself

I am still seeing issues with the 3D animations and artificial delays.. For example, an outfielder catches a ball and then holds on to it while he watches a runner score from third base, and then decides to throw to home plate. Pretty frustrating to watch this kind of behavior which was quite prevalent in OOTP 23.

Also, it is cool to see players throw the ball around after a play, however after some plays this doesn't happen, and a player will just stand there holding onto the ball.

That's basically the equivalent of the player not getting a grip on the ball / dropping it. Our animations are unfortunately not equipped to handle everything yet.

I had a lefthanded batter hit a ball that looked like a looping foul ball about 20-30 feet beyond 1st base dugout that hit fence then ricocheted off the wall into right field where RightFielder scooped it up and threw the ball in as batter settled in at 1st base. Confused I wanted to see what happened and viewed the replay which then showed a ground ball between 2b base and 1st base for a simple single. But live I saw the play as I 1st described

Loving this edition of OOTP 24. I often wonder what would I have done with this game instead of the yearly purchasing of the Strat-O-Matic tabletop game. I still have several version of Strat on the upper shelves of my closet. A friend and I spent many many summers playing SOM

I was amazed how much better the 3d is than last year. However I still do have a few issues:

1.) there is hitching when the camera goes 360 when the game starts
2.) there is still that weird fly ball thing were a ball is between the lines and then moves in the air to foul territory. That one is weird and has been around for awhile

Thanks for the information, however, it sure seems like players routinely fumble the ball at the most inconvenient times.

Is there a convenient time to fumble a ball?
