Help with Historical Leagues with Fictional Ball Players, etc.

Hello, I am attempting to create a historical league with fictional players but using the fictional league template. I try my best to actually recreate every NA/AA/MLB team that has existed and folded and all minor league teams when the leagues started. I need help with the Negro Leagues. And this is going to sound terrible...but how do I keep African American players out of the Majors until 1946/47? In historical leagues, there is a color barrier box you select, but I can't seem to figure out how to select it in a customizable fictional league. I hate using the automatic evolution of the league and prefer to manually change teams to new locations or delete teams that no longer exist. OOTP has several teams as extensions of teams that folded in the 1870s and 80s and I would like to have my league as historically realistic as possible but with fictional players. I would like to create the historical Negro Leagues but keep the players fictional and enable no amateur draft. OOTP does not include some Nergo League ball clubs during their history in 1920s when the first Negro League World Series happened.
I started with 1871 and had to edit the league structure because OOTP puts all 9 teams into 2 leagues, when it was 1 league. OOTP only seems to introduce minor league clubs once they become affiliated with ML clubs and I'd like to include minor league ball clubs from as early as 1877 when the International Association began. And not using an amateur draft, how do I get players in feeder leagues to become free agents? And does anyone have information on college baseball teams and who existed when and where? I find scant information on college baseball in the 19th century and early 20th century.
