My favorite thing about the first couple months is identifying surprise players that kill it at the right level. After finishing my Live 20s, it wasn't the toppers that made the most noise in gold league, but the accompanying diamond pack award that accumulated 1.7 WAR in 5 starts...

Who's your early unexpected MVP?

Rondell White has been the unexpected star for me.
Two 4-WAR seasons the first two years, and this year is on pace for 5.1 WAR and hitting .328/.371/.512 with 12 HRs in 350 PAs.

Bill Salkeld. I'm constantly opening up tourney team screens to find him hitting .471 or some such. He and the rest of my iron tourney mashers have piled up 66 packs over the past three days.

Salkeld is still a hero in bronze tournaments... I can only imagine how well that bat plays against iron pitching!

Iron tourney pitchers are still being issued full body armor. It's brutal.
