Screen Saver causes Hangs

I have the latest (registered) version. When I leave the game running for a while and the screen saver comes on, once I deactivate the screen saver, the game window is blank and unresponsive. I have to ctrl-alt-del and kill the process.

This happens whether I use the Direct3d more or not. Is there any solution to this besides being in front of the computer all the time?

This is a known issue and not limited to just OOTP. My suggestion is either turn off the game or sceensaver when leaving for awhile.

alternately, screen savers do not in fact save your screen at all.... here is what you can do.

Enter your screen saver properties screen and hit settings, disable screen savers and disable the computer from turning off hard disks and disable it from going to system standby. Enable the screen to trun off entirely after a certain amount of time.

Not only will this actually save your screen, things will always keep running on your computer and nothing will freeze when you go away. This is what I do.... but it isn't for everyone, I spend way too much time at my computer for my own good.
