Skyboxes, second generation
It's a learning experience indeed. The second gen skyboxes are going to be taken in more open areas, rather than tailored mostly for my UP League. Getting scale correct is not an easy process. I'm also going to be putting up previews with and without the provided backgrounds. It'll offer a better perspective on whether of not you want to use an MLB or MiLB stadium style.
I'm open to suggestions on anything you guys feel is relevant. For the present time, it'll continue to be rural settings for two reasons: A-I live in a rural area, and the closest cities of any real size are about 100 miles away; and B-Mrs. Cobb does not with us going to the major metropolitan areas until the unrest dies down.

US 131 Scenic Overlook
Taken just south of Cadillac, MI on a turnout from the freeway. I'm quite pleases with the sky, less so with the scaling near ground.

A field outside of Big Rapids, MI
Relatively clear skies. Woods in the distance. Scale is not awful.
By the way, Big Rapids is home to Ferris State University, 2018 Div. II basketball champs and football runner-ups. Nice town that still has a drive-in A&W. https://mega.nz/file/Xc4BXJzL#Eeey0d...rNgpjjjTPXdEgE

A field off Grace Road in Benzonia, MI
This is about 10 minutes from the Cobb family getaway, and less than 3 miles from Lake Michigan.

Copemish
is a tiny blip on M115. This field is a couple of miles outside it on a dirt road. There isn't much in Copemish, though the people have always been friendly when I passed through.
Not every sky can be cheery and warm...

Highway 61, Gladwin MI
Gladwin is a small farming community near the center of the Lower Peninsula. There's a strong Amish presence, an abundance of open land, and a lot of good memories of a lost-to-illness friend at the Chinese restaurant in town.

Jacobs Falls
A small waterfall on the Keweenaw Peninsula of Upper Michigan. Admittedly, it's not the most useful of images...but it's a beautiful place indeed. The falls are literally step-out-of-your-car accessible. Here's a link to a brief description of the area if you're interested.
https://gowaterfalling.com/waterfalls/jacob.shtml Mrs. Cobb and I have been talking about moving to the UP for years, and when budget and circumstance allow, I truly see us ending up near a place like this. We're quite fond of the Superior shore.

Holy Crap! A skybox from NOT in Michigan!!!
Grabbed a pano from google maps near the Golden Triangle of Pittsburgh. Roof of the Steeler home peeks over the LF fence.
Just playing around a bit...might start broadening my horizons. https://mega.nz/file/XNpxwKRS#gtTU0c...z7A8sUX6jUjd2c

A little northern Michigan fall weather
Went for a jaunt yesterday afternoon with bright sun and cool but bearable temps. Kirtland Community College is in the process of transitioning from a St. Helen location to right near Grayling. We used to call it the "St. Helen Institute of Technology", but they churn out quite a few good nurses, some of whom helped save my life during my cancer.
Back on topic, their old shooting range and sports area isn't maintained anymore, but I drove back in and got this. There are two views...the first has the better lighting, the second the better fall colors. Both are uploaded...you choose. Better lighting: https://mega.nz/file/gWxxhYhK#DJildx...bqrgbCSMh49zYQ Better colors: https://mega.nz/file/5ap1RCTD#56Kghd...iSf-gKAVvznbLk Enjoy!

West Branch, MI
and if ANYONE knows the way to make power lines not break, I'd love to hear it.
Green Road is a few miles west of West Branch, my former home for 15 years, and can be quite pretty in the fall. West Branch is a small farming town just off I-75. It's clean, safe, and not a bad place to live at all. The area is littered with artesian wells. G's, the local pizza joint, makes a mean pocket pizza. The Rifle River headwaters are near here as well. https://mega.nz/file/BTpEGb6D#XOmqbe...EriBnR1h7B-nvs

Taking a short break from skyboxing while I start assembling my Mitten League. I've got quite a few piled up to process, and I'm also working on a tutorial for anyone who wants to take their own. Also...I don't want to dump all I have, as I'd like a few surprises in the Mitten QS. I'll likely have more time to work on this as I walked away from the morass of facebook.
Late fall and winter in Michigan is a testy time weather wise, and the cold screws with the neuropathy in my feet immensely...so my outdoor time is quite limited. Mrs. Cobb has sworn to see that on some nice sky days we get out though, even if she has to chauffeur me. All of you should be as blessed as I with the support of your significant other. I'll still be dribbling out some here and there...but it'll be quite slow for now.
