What am I missing about bidding?

Why am I getting "bid too low" when I am bidding over the listed bid amount? I know it isn't the starting bid, as it has been rising right there on the screen.

You still haven't passed the highest bidder. They don't move the start bid price. You have to just keep increasing your bid until it says "you are the highest bidder!"

You may very well be right about this, but in any auction I have participated in since they introduced PT a couplke of years ago, the message was always "Sorry but another user has a higher bid" This way you know that you have to increase the bid, and the highest bid has always been displayed so that you know exactly what you need to bid.

I believe the above error can happen if someone else bid up above your bid price before you submit, but before the screen has refreshed. Especially if in the middle of a bidding war that can happen when a bunch of bids come in near the same time.
