Looks like we're going to need another patch

Reports are coming in that MLB and the MLBPA have agreed to the expanded playoff format for this season.

Yeah, but no worries.

We were already planning on another patch to polish some things up early next week anyway, probably Tuesday if all goes well. So will just shove that in there too

We still have an hour until the opening pitch. Hopefully by then they'll have finalized all the rules for the season

I hope you won’t have to restart a league for the changes to take effect?

You'll have to change the playoff format manually to see the changes if you have already started a game. Most likely the code to revert to 2021 rules will move back to the old format for next year.

Keep in mind: implementing the new format requires a change to the way "wild cards seeded lowest" is implemented. So there's actual new coding involved, not just a change to the quickstart.
