Ride out the storm or make panic changes?
I'm in the first season of a White Sox save. Admittedly, with limited experience, I've never really been successful in the years I've played the game.
By early June, we were 40-25, just behind the Indians for the division lead. Then suddenly the bottom has fallen out, but nothing on our team has really changed. Now we're 42-41, our bullpen is among the worst in the AL, and our offense can't score. So. Is this just a slump I need to wait out? Or should I consider making changes with guys who aren't performing? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! |

i sometimes change lineup and check each page to see where they like to be in lineup then check pitching staff and then look at minors depending on age of hitter and pitcher then I would make my changes if needed or make trades … when I first started moving game forward in my first season I did a HUGE fire sale as i didn't want half the players on my team. I know I was drastic but I wanted MY team at the time.

Not nearly enough information to answer specifically
So, I'll answer generally What do think your team's true talent is? If you think it's what got you off to a good start, then expect regression to the mean to have you end the season strong. If you think it's how you've been playing recently, then you probably need to make some moves You can always use the simulator to get a "projection" and see how your team looks to finish to inform your decision making process Another thing to, always, consider, is where you are in your contention window? Is it now or never, or do you expect to have a lot more chances to compete? Also, how easy is it to upgrade? If you have one or two weak positions you can easily upgrade, that's a better situation than tying to rebuild in the middle of a season |

If the bullpen is bad, you can often patch that with salary dumps from other teams. Or you may be able to upgrade your 3rd or 4th starter, then use the former 5th guy in the bullpen in long relief. If you can get a better setup guy or closer, then everyone else moves down a chair. Your bullpen should be 30% better at the cost of some backup and/or a couple meh prospects if you have room to take on salary.
If you're playing the current Chi Sox I'd think you have plenty of offense, but I'm used to the NL
