Any reason not to sign a few free agent GMs, since they often have maxed out EP and EA, as scouts ? (besides salary and reduced scouting speed/no region bonus)
As it is, I sign a few and assign them to the major regions and the Draft, as they should produce the most accurate reports ? Maybe GMs, coaches, should not have scouting ratings ? |

I'm not sure off hand how many players generate, but it should be more than enough to meet the league requirements. Quote:

If I play historical with recalc, can players gain experience in new positions? And if so, does it carry over to the next year?

Hello Community. I have a question about the manager lever. Is there a limit? After my last season i get no points to update my manager Level. I was 1st place after the regular season und won the Cup!

Does handedness matter? i.e. Do left-handed defensemen play better as a LD? Beyond what is already reflected in experience ratings for positions. I know for forward it's probably a wash, as a lot of guys play (and prefer) their off-wing.

If I remember right there are a couple of small effects, like puckhandling ability at the point being slightly degraded for a defenceman playing the wrong side. But as we rewrite the engine for 7, I'm trying to make more use of handedness, e.g. giving players a tendency to prefer turning in a direction that puts them in a position to receive a pass on the forehand.

Is there an option anywhere to make the cap fluctuate from year-to-year? I've been playing as the same GM for 10 seasons now and the cap has been 81.5M every single season.
If not, I would really love to see this option implemented in the future. |

You can manually change it if you are in Commissioner Mode.

Is there a talent randomness in the game, like there is in ootp? In other words, if I play the 2020 season multiple times, will a particular player develop/evolve/change at different rates given the same circumstances (ie training/coaching/usage)? Will Nick Suzuki become a stud in one simulation after 5 years vs a dud in the same amount of time in another simulation?

Yes. Jeff's explained it in a lot more detail before, but the short answer is it's easier for people to control themselves. Just remember: It's a rising tide when the cap goes up. Top players get paid more, but when you start seeing 4th liners getting paid $5 or 7 million a year, sometimes people have a hard time justifying that in their head. |

Follow-up question: since my cap has been flat, does that also explain why my owner never increases my budget more than a few thousand dollars? I've made the playoffs for many years running and I never get a good enough bump in budget to hire highly-skilled staff. |
