Minor league personnel movement/transactions

i just noticed that in a bunch of fictional sims (in commissioner mode, not controlling any teams) i ran, the minor league affiliates of their parent club rarely if ever had personnel changes. i think anytime that happened it was because of retirement.

there are some unaffiliated minor league teams and an international league in these sims that have personnel changes with mostly reasonable frequency. its just the major league affiliates that seem to have lifetime tenures for their personnel, they dont ever get promoted to their parent team or go anywhere until they retire.

has anyone else experienced this?

i decided to check out the league transactions log. it looks like the minor league affiliates are just continually re-signing their coaches. i finally saw one team fire a coach. it was a pitching coach on a 30-110 team with an 8.92 team ERA. the manager and hitting coach were retained and given extensions when their contracts expired.

at the top level, the parent clubs almost always hire personnel that have been let go or not given extensions by another major league club. rarely, someone from the free agent personnel pool will be signed. minor league personnel are not signed or moved to their parent club. the only exception ive seen involves the aforementioned pitching coach who was let go after that team's dreadful season, signed by a major league club for a 1 year deal to be their bench coach and left the team after his contract wasnt renewed.

it looks like the threshold for being fired or not having a contract renewed for a minor league affiliate team is really high. an 8.92 ERA finally got someone fired. this particular 10 year sim, with 8 teams in AAA and AA, had 17 managers. there was only 1 manager from a AAA team that was fired 3 years into his tenure and replaced by one from the free agent personnel pool. the fired manager has surfaced as a bench coach with several major league teams since then.
