Sell non-live golds or save for future missions?

So I'm still getting a feel for everything in PT...

I've got a number of historical gold players such as All Star Earl Battey C, Snapshot Greg Swindell SP, Snapshot Denis Menke SS, SNapshot Hank Lieber CF, One Hit Wonder Dave Brain 3B, One Hit Wonder Don Hurst 1B, Snapshot Mel Harder SP, etc. and a number more golds under an 85 overall.

These players are either on my reserve or inactive roster and I won't be using them... Some of them sell fairly well on the AH while some would just be quick sells. What are the odds that these cards will be added to future collection missions and thus become far more valuable?

I'm torn between being patient and cashing in later on vs. making extra PP now to go after the expensive upgrades I really want. If they're not likely to be added to future missions I'm going to sell off, but I'd hate to see their prices inflate by 1,000% or anything after being added to a collection mission after I've already sold them. This is my first year starting PT early so I've never seen the progression of live missions before.

Unless they sell for a lot (which usually means they're already in missions), I keep them.

That's the fun part of it...you don't know...I don't know...nobody knows except for the devs...you could sit on a card all year and it never shows up in a collection...and you may sell it today and next week it's part of a collection giving one of the best cards and you lose on the PP.

As a personal rule, I only sell duplicates. Immediate upgrades are nice, but with content being released all year, you also risk upgrading to a player that becomes obsolete by meta standards one month down the road.

Thanks guys, I think that's sound advice. The most any of them are going for is 2-3k PP, so at best I'd net maybe 15k if I sold them all, which is a mere drop in the bucket for legend Joe Morgan or Cal Ripken.

I was a dummy and sold Chipper Jones just days before it showed up in a collection. I got 12K for it. Now, I see someone trying to sell it for 25K, but the L7 is still 12K. So, even though it shows up in a collection, doesn't mean it is going to be worth much more, especially if it shows up in a collection that is just too expensive.

Then, there is the fact that I sold a duplicate Don Newcomb for 2K before it was in a collection. Then, I got another duplicate, but before I could sell it, it showed up in a collection and the value went down because everybody and their mother had one for sale.

That's definitely a different way to consider things. I just kind of naturally assumed things would go up in price if they were added to a new collection, but that's clearly not always the case.

Hurst has a pretty good bat on him and you could consider using him in tournaments at DH.

Yeah he was actually my DH for several seasons in regular PT mode until I finished the live collection missions and he usually had a pretty solid year of around a .260-.270 BA with upper 20's to lower 30's HR's so he could be useful in that regard.
