Zack Collins
I've noticed looking at some other dynasties on the board that it seems like the AI makes many of the same kind of players available for trade. Everyone posting about a 2020 rebuild that I've seen has acquired Zack Collins, and so have I. I'm curious how he's doing for everyone, because he seems like a boom or bust type of player.
I'm doing a Reds sim beginning in 2020. I got him from the White Sox for nothing, essentially compensation for taking on Alex Colome's salary. He spent last year in AAA, slashing .213/.355/.409 (wRC+ 114) with 14 HR in 355 PA's. I'm at the beginning of the 2021 season now, and after a dismal spring (2 for 37 with 2 walks and 14 K's), he's my MLB backup to Jacob Stallings while I manipulate Keibert Ruiz's service time, and then eventually Collins will remain as the backup with Stallings traded away, or Collins will go down and start in AAA. Ideally, if he pans out he'll find his share of playing time between spelling Ruiz and taking more and more of aging Joey Votto's time. Anyway, just curious what range of results others are getting with him. |

Ouch. Those are three rough seasons.
Are the Gray Sox an expansion team or did you move the Marlins? Not even Derek Jeter would be that ice cold to the taxpayers of Miami. |

They moved after the first season. But won 92 games in season two.
Makes me wonder how hard the "Marlins Challenge" is. Starting with Sixto, Paublo, and Sandy in the rotation is a nice start. I have also found them to have some decent guys that are almost MLB ready in the minors. Plus guys like Miggy Rojas, Brian Anderson, and Jorge Alfaro are very useful vets at SS, 3B and C. Probably the toughest thing is the division they play. Washington and ATL are rough. What yall think? |

By the start of the 2023 season Zach Collins is the backup in AAA and fetches nadda in the trade finder. Will probably cut in the near future.
In my other play through he was starter in the league for awhile. All-star once. |
