14 Pitchers FTW
Anyone go 14 pitchers and only 12 fielders? It is really convenient for players that sim most games. Bullpen doesn't reach 0% all the time.

I worry about that because I don't know that my regulars would be able to get enough rest.
I could be wrong, though. I haven't tried it, but for the record, I run into bullpen problems with a 13/13 split playing out games.... |

I don't play out many games maybe a 2 or 3 dozen. But when I was doing 13/13 I constantly needed a carpool from AAA to get fresh arms when there are no days off for a long time.
My AAA teams would have to pitch position players lol Cause I would send 3 mlb guys down and set there status to do not play for 3 days. And take 3 arms from AAA to the show. And most of my RP have >50 stamina in the MLB. But when I went 14 I was fine. I think perhaps OOTPb needs separate stamina settings under "Stats and AI" for starters and relief pitchers. Because I even see this happen to AI teams. All of a sudden I'll seem a couple of weeks and have a stretch of 3 or 4 games where I put up 10+ runs. And it's mostly always that the other team's bullpen was completely exhausted the entire series. I think starting pitcher stamina is fine. Relief pitcher stamina is either lower then it should be or it's their recovery time. I also brought in a Trainer with outstanding fatigue recovery. So I am sure that helps. My universe has a lack of quality MLB trainers. Japan has all of these insane trainers but none will play in the USA. Literally there are like a dozen trainers and 8 of them are all yellow average for everything. They are getting stuck in foreign leagues while the foreign guys won't come to USA or they are in the Indy leagues. So I have to check when each league hits their offseason to grab them. The window is extremely small on personnel. |

What are your fatigue and injury settings?
And stamina? Currently, am going with 6 starters and 3 relievers, starters can't relieve and relievers can't start. High fatigue and high injury, moderately high stamina.

Is it possible pitcher stamina is just overblown and that manager's just pull them very quickly?

MLB default setup numbers.
stamina = very low injury = normal ootp classic fatigue setting not sure where that is located I dont see it. It doesn't effect the human player as much because we can make minor league moves. But I do notice when AI teams start to give up a stretch of games with high scoring I check out their bullpen and its dead. I don't want to raise stamina because of starting pitchers but relief stamina should probably be raised but you can only raise total pitcher stamina. I've turned off owner controls budget and storylines this year as well. Because both hurt the AI teams more then the human. And I don't need the AI weaker I need them stronger. So maybe stamina overall does need to come up even if its unrealistic in modern MLB. Concessions have to be made to keep the AI strong I believe. |
