Pittsburgh Pirates Help
Does anyone play as the current PP in the game and can guide me on some tips to start rebuilding the team? Any guidance appreciated.

Draft carefully. Play Moneyball. Anyone who turns into a star trade him for prospects before his last arbitration year.

Grow your market by adding popular players if they're reasonable. Pittsburgh is a small market city, and always needs to be mindful of their money.

Don't be afraid to take a chance on younger players hitting arbitration that are open to longer term deals. You can sometime sign them to a reasonable 5-6 year deal. Its obviously a gamble but when it pays off, it can set you up with a cheap star at a position for a few years for less money than going to arb every year would have cost.
