Unretire from the huge DB ?

This feature in MLB is great, but does it work in FHM5 ?

I understand players can be edited just as the baseball game but "digging" into the retire pool is vital. Lots of players have been wrongly retired since they play in minor leagues back in their European countries.

Those leagues doesn't exist I see, but if you could be able to GM/Coach a team from lets say Sweden those players are important since just one level down in Allsvenskan is active playing. Finland the same. That second level league should be able to get new teams coming from lower leagues, which I don't knpw if that even works.

I understand the focus is on NHL and KHL but to get to the same level as the baseball game this is needed.

A second question would be how any historical aspect works. NHL is the only league I think, but is then ONLY players that really made it to NHL popping up in the year they did. Then they are considering retire if they never again made a roster, even if they played on several years in lower league or in Europe.

This seems like the OOTP in the early beginning without minor leagues added to historical setups.
This is why I would like to have the option of unretire players that might very well have played in NHL long after they left for ,like, SHL.
Kenny Jönsson was just such a player, so Jörgen Jönsson that had still years left after returning to Sweden. Many more of course.

We only retire players from the database if they're actually retired. If they're just playing in a league that's very low-level, they may start the game as free agents, but they're still active.

Promotion and relegation is enabled for the leagues that use it, yes.

Historical players are active in the years they were actually active as professionals, including in leagues outside the NHL, even if the game option to retire them when they actually retired is used. With that option on, Tomas Jonsson remains in historical games until 1998, Jorgen Jonsson until 2008, long after they left the NHL.

Then I must again to be certain.
A player that is retired in the normal starting setup, not historical version, can he be unretired ?
It's a matter of your DB-editor making some error perhaps when it comes to leagues outside US. Players that took a break thanks to study then returned to a minor club in that country.

I take it that players like that is still in the DB but just need to be unretire, like the MLB version.

No, it's not possible to un-retire a player who's retired at the start of the game - the data for retired players isn't stored in a way that allows that. If you know of players who've un-retired in real life and should be active in the game, let me know their names and I'll change them in our database.
