Can I do play by play game without field players?

I am just about to pull the trigger on buying OOTP19 on my Windows Vista (yeah, ok...stop snickering) and I was wondering if I can just play games with the PBP and not the little players on the field. My PC wouldnt allow the game to play with the "salt and pepper" players, it would crash, so I am going thru games on PBP. Can I do the same with '19??

they didn't change how you can play a game, so if it works in '18 it will continue to be that way in '19. ie you don't have to watch 3d, could use old 2d view etc eh? or whatever you are doing now. (lack of familiarity may make that sound off, lol, but just vocab missing / visualization of screens involved)

?fixes?:

maybe turn off 3d in 'settings' when ootp first loads? if that is the root of any crash, it simply won't occur anymore.

any computer in last ~15 years with enough ram should be able to load and play this game. the 3d can be turned off, if that is the real cause. games in 1999 had more intense graphics.

more likely, something is causing your problem and can be alleviated with some troubleshooting.

video card drivers -- do not rely on windows update.. go to intel, nvidia, ati and type in model number and get straight from the source... never rely on windows update to update your drivers for components. windows update is great at updating windows, though and nothing else.

even google "modle# video crash game" or something.. .see if others have a similar problem and follow their 'fixes' if given.

under power options, if you have a non-integrated vid card, make sure "Link STate Power Management" is off under "pci-express".

all of this assumes you meet minimum req of the application, double check if not. if you don't have enough vram it'll crash in many cases, for example. that's 3d-only related... turn off feature and not a problem.

if it's a box brand, also go to HP's website or whatever, and look up support for your model number. they typically keep links to latest drivers for each component, or at the least you can use that info and go to the manufacturer's website and update any old drivers.

if you put it together, or someone did, simply go to the mobo's website, like gigabyte's... same idea... can find links to manufactures for any drivers that are related. chipset, sata drivers, integrated video cards etc...

You can use "Classic 2D View" and turn off the ball animation. This will give you the field of play and play-by-play while using little or no graphics.

Just choose 2D mode when you go to play out your game. It’s just like old times. I can play 3D, but prefer 2D.
