The Royals won the World Series. No HOF inductees this year.

6 years after drafting him, the Reds finally released Jamie Schuschnig.

Chris Ferrara has found work as a hitting coach for a Red Sox DSL team.

Mark has retired from professional baseball. He was angry with how his career went and said he wants nothing to do with me or with baseball ever again.

Jon was promoted to the low-A Emeralds and will be a middle reliever to start the year.

My new prospect:

16-year-old 1B Butch Jordan, 4.5 star potential, went to high school in New Jersey.

Pat was taken off the DL and sent to AAA on a rehab assignment yesterday. He'll be a middle reliever there and will hopefully be able to play well and get back up to the majors soon.

Butch, who has had his 17th birthday and has had the OSA reevaluate his potential to 3 stars, was drafted 280th overall, making him a 9th round selection by the Rockies. They sent him to the Pioneer league to be the 3rd string 1st baseman for the Grand Junction Rockies.

Ricardo was released by the Royals the day after the draft. He'll have to find another organization to play for.

In 4 AAA games, Pat went 0-1 with a save and a 2.25 ERA, putting up 3 strikeouts. But after 2 days with the major league club after his rehab assignment, they sent him down to AA before he had the chance to play. Manager Barry Bonds (yes that one) will use him as a setup man.

Jon hasn't gotten the chance to play for the Emeralds yet, but they've only played 12 games, and manager Jesus Feliciano, who's in his 10th year managing this team, plans to use him as a middle reliever.

Butch has played 1 game, and went 2-for-4 in his debut.

Jamie is still looking for a job.

Pat has gone 0-1 with a 2.89 ERA in 11 AA games. His WAR is 0.1. I'm wondering if this will be his last year in the Rangers organization as he's eligible for minor league free agency at the end of the season. He's no longer on the 40-man roster for the Rangers.

Jon has gone 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA in 6 games of low-A ball, putting up a 0.3 WAR. This is his first time in his pro career having a positive WAR.

Butch has gotten 6 starts, all of them at first base, and has been hitting .350, but still has a -0.1 WAR, possibly due to his poor fielding.

PCL and NWL seasons ended today.

Pat ended the year at 1-1 with a save and a 4.50 ERA in 7 AAA games. He gave up 2 runs in 2 IP in 3 games since his promotion back to AAA. Between AA and AAA, he went 3-2 with a save and a 2.19 ERA in 31 games for the year with a 0.3 WAR. The Round Rock Express missed the playoffs.

Jon Murray finished at 2-1 with a save and a 5.18 ERA in 20 appearances. His WAR was 0.3 as he struck out 27. The Eugene Emeralds didn't make the playoffs.

Butch Jordan finished the year with 11 starts in which he hit .333 with 3 RBI. His WAR was 0.0. The Grand Junction Rockies finished at a dismal 17-59 for the second straight year. They've had their manager, Frank Gonzales, since 2016, and have only had a winning record once, although they did win the championship in a year they had a losing record. Regardless, I think it's time they let him go.

The Cardinals beat the Rangers to win the World Series in 5. Miguel Cabrera and Roy Halladay were inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Pat became a free agent.

Jon was promoted to the A South Bend Cubs where manager Jimmy Gonzalez will use him as a middle reliever.

Jamie and Ricardo both retired. Jamie could be a good coach one day, I might call him up in a few years. He's only 28, so I'll give him some time to try life outside of baseball.

New prospects:

20-year-old 1B Kurt Branham, 1 star potential, 0.9 WAR this past year at St. John's University, where the competition level is great.
20-year-old RP Julio Baragas, 3 star potential, 0.1 WAR this past year at Fordham University, where the competition level is average.

Draft Day. Julio's potential has been bumped up to 3.5. Pat still hasn't signed anywhere.

Jon is 1-0 with a 4.95 ERA so far this year in 18 A games, giving him a 0.2 WAR.

With the 425th overall pick, the Cardinals drafted Julio in the 14th round and sent him to their GCL team. He'll be used as a middle reliever there.

Kurt was selected in the 19th round by the Blue Jays, 576th overall. He went to their DSL team, where he will be the starting DH and hit in the middle of the lineup.

In the month of June, Jon went 1-0 with a 4.32 ERA in 5 games for the Emeralds.

Julio has pitched 1 scoreless inning so far in 2 appearances.

Kurt hit .180 in 14 games for the DSL Blue Jays, hitting 3 RBI and getting him a -0.3 WAR. He was sent to the GCL team, where he is the starting DH and is hitting 2nd.

Butch hasn't played at all.

A bad month for Jon, who gave up 7 runs in 7 IP.

Julio played pretty well, going 0-2 with 2 saves and a 1.64 ERA in 10 games in July. He has a 0.3 WAR for the season.

Kurt has been just as bad in the GCL as he was in the DSL. .197 with a -0.3 WAR in 17 games. He did hit his first pro home run though.

Butch finally got to play this year. He's hit gone 2-for-8, striking out 5 times.

Pat still needs a job. Could his career be over?

The GCL season is over.

Julio ended up at 2-2 with 3 saves and a 1.93 ERA in 17 games, giving him a 0.4 WAR. He struck out 21. The GCL Cards missed the playoffs.

Between the GCL and DSL, Kurt hit .209 with 2 homers and 15 RBI in 55 games this year, giving him a -0.6 WAR. The GCL Blue Jays didn't make the playoffs.

Jon spent some time with both the A (35 games) and low-A (10 games) teams for the Cubs this year, but finished in A, which didn't make the playoffs. Between the two teams he went 3-0 with a 4.78 ERA and 32 Ks. He had a 0.1 WAR.

Butch had a -0.2 WAR in 12 games after going 2-for-15. Grand Junction didn't make the playoffs either. No postseason action for any of our prospects.

The Cardinals won the World Series again. Prince Fielder and Ichiro Suzuki were inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Pat Hillger retired at age 29. He was the most successfully player we've every had, earning just over $2 million in just over 1 year total in the majors. He spent 8 years as a professional baseball player in the Texas Rangers organization.

Here are his career MLB stats:

Thank you Pat!

Our new prospect:

17-year-old SP Will Dietrich, 5 star potential, 7.7 WAR this past year at St. Louis University (which is a high school apparently), where the competition level is average.

Jon Murray started off the season in A, allowing 2 earned runs in 5 innings in 6 appearances, before being sent down to low-A a month ago, where he hasn't made an appearance yet despite being listed as a middle reliever.

Will was drafted in the 3rd round by the Mets, 93rd overall. They have a month to work out a deal.

Will had a terrible first start, giving up 7 runs, 5 earned, on 7 hits and 2 walks without striking anyone out in 2.1 innings.

In 2 games so far Julio hasn't allowed a run for the Johnson City Cardinals of the Appalachian League, where he is the setup man.

Jon gave up 2 runs in a 2 inning outing in low-A and was then sent down to the DSL team, where he's given up a run in 1 inning so far.

Kurt has started 4 games for the Bluefield Blue Jays and already has a 0.1 WAR. He's gone 5-for-14 with 4 RBI and is batting cleanup and playing 1B.

Butch has hit 0-for-3 so far in 3 pinch hit opportunities. He's the third string first baseman and backup DH for the Grand Junction Rockies in the Pioneer League.

Good stuff! I like traveling escapades of minor leaguers more than the immediate success stories. Rooting for this agent's players.
