Frustrated by trade AI
Anyone else just get really frustrated by the trading AI sometimes. I’m the Rays in challenge mode and we are struggling in 2018. Debate span is absolutely dominating(.369/.429/.540) so I am trying to move him for something As I don’t have future plans for him and we are not going anywhere this season. No team will even I’ve me a 20/20 prospect for him. It’s a little ridiculous don’t ya think?

Definitely. And then if you wanted to trade back for him, they would want your two best prospects, two draft picks your left arm, and right testicle.

Try a trade with a "Win It Now" team but your probably looking at max a 2 star potential type of guy as a prospect.

These type of real life deadline deals (expiring contract to contender for prospect/cash considerations) just don't happen in OOTP.
I'm not sure I've ever seen an AI-AI trade in July which didn't include a major leaguer going in each direction, which is not how real life July trades always go. In the current OOTP trade engine, teams either want to get rid of a player (who they don't think is worth it financially), in which case they will take basically anything cheaper back, or they don't want to trade them, in which case they will only take a mega-deal. Trades like the Blue Jays made this month, moving expiring contracts for non-elite prospects, just don't happen ever in OOTP which is a shame. The overall numbers of trades, while much better than before, is still a lot less than real life, even on very high. |

Nope. Smart GM's would never fall for those numbers being sustainable for Denard Span in 2018 and going forward. Smart MLB GM's dont fall for buying low/selling high, so it makes sense that the interest on him is limited. Considering his salary and the circumstances he was even traded to the Rays in the first place (as a salary dump) it makes sense to me.
