Importing MLB and MiLB Players

I am familiar with manual importing, but the reply to another thread that I made got me wondering.

I started a fictional league with 16 teams. At the end of the first season, I imported 32 MLB players from throughout history and 48 MiLB players from throughout history.

The way I determine what players get "drafted" is I have the entire major AND minor database placed into a seperate spreadsheet outside of OOTP. I use a random number generator to pick players and assign them to the teams based on how team records the previous season.

Now, the MLB players that are imported I have no issues assigning them to the corresponding team using this format: playerid,year,team (using Matt Lawton for an example (lawtoma02,1995,EP). All the major league players will go to the correct team.

The problem is that I have not been able to get the minor league players to go to the assigned team using this same set up. Example for Carl Payne (payne-001car,1906,OAK). Seems if I try to add the receiving team for this, the import fails. If I remove the team, then the import succeeds. Not a big issue, as I can just go and manually place all the players on the team I want them on.

Has anyone else tried this method with the MiLB players? Just wondering.
