Add States?
I run a fictional league set in Australia and instead of having an All Star game I'd like to set up a short tournament with the teams being the eight Australian states and territories (Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Northern Territory, Australian Capital Territory).
The idea is that each team would be comprised of players born in their respective states. Trouble is that when I go to set that up the Australian states and Territories are not included on the Regions list, is there a way I could add the above eight states and territories to Australia? Would that be enough to ensure that the tournament then select players born in those states for the teams? |

well, there's an add state and add city button... i'm pretty sure someone made a Mars Leauge or a league onteh moon with ewoks? LoL
there's got to be a way... play in teh world editor ... export and get a good xml reader etc etc... if you are going to make large and numerous changes, an export - manipulate - import process will be the most efficient way. i've never worked on the exported files, but it'd be worth it in long run... althogh for just 8-12 states/territories, it may be faster in game. transferring cities to the appropriate state would probably be faster editing the exported files? if neccessary Last edited by NoOne; 09-02-2017 at 02:13 PM. |

I have a P/R league set in Australia. I have first tier leagues in Queensland, NSW/ACT, VIC/TAS, SA/NT/WA, and New Zealand. Im in the process of adding each state as its own nation. But its slow going to get so much information in. I have not found anyone who has already done anything similar.

If you do some sleuthing and have confidence in your abilities not to mess things up I believe you can open up the world.dat file and add custom regions.

So I managed to figure this out. The answer was to amend the world xml file so as to include the states as Regions. I was paranoid about screwing up my game so I made a copy of the xml file, backed up the game and then followed the instructions from this thread:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ref-guide.html And it worked! I've attached a screenshot with the states now as regions. I tried to attach my amended world xml file to this thread but the file was too big. If anyone wants this let me know and I'll send it to you. I set up a tournament and the players do come from the correct states, so it does work. Thanks to all for your help. |
