In which mode to play mod schedules ?
Hello Baseballers,
I am new to the game and as an European guy a big baseball fan. As you know we Europeans are far too impatient to play league systems with more than about 30 to 40 matches (I am a soccer fan ;-). I just downloaded a schedule from from the mod section. In which mode do I have to start the game to play this ? Custom game ? Or Standard game ? I tried this before within a random custom game. After importing the file via league settings there were problems concerning number of games and teams. I appreciate your help. |

Any way you want to start a game works -- you can always pick a schedule or generate a fictional one -- as long as it's not during the regular season, of course.
go to League Options -> options tab (should show scheduling options, if wrong, try a tab left and right of "options" - rules? it's there, nearby, if not. you can only import a schedule during the preseason, fyi... so if the season started you have to wait. and, you cannot pre-date it obviously relative to the game's current date... ok, now click the button that says "edit schedule" or if visible "Available actions" will be one less step -- look for Import Schedule -- if not in available actions on that main "options" setting tab, then it's in available actions after you click "Edit Schedue" button [sic]. use a filter or you have to scroll through 1000s of schedules in teh directory, or you have to point to where you are keeping the new schedule file you intend to use. simply click the file, then copy the name... paste into filter inside the game and it'll be easily seen by itself. the only concern of tossing into the main data\schedules directory is if it is named the exact same as a default schedule -- if that's the case it will be over-written each time you install a patch or re-install the data directory. make sure it is unique from those that exist... simply add "_C_A.lsdl" or something to the comment section of the file name. i keep all my custom schedules in the normal data\<insert name> directory, but also backed up in a directory outside of ootp's app directory (schedules, logos special stuff i can simple copy/paste and overwrite in the ootp\data stuff. mimics the directory structure e.g. example\data\ which includes logos, ballcaps schedule directories etc...) if i uninstall i cannot forget about it... it won't be deleted etc etc.. it takes up very little space so it's inconsequential even if you have a small SSD.
