Tournament Schedule Generation
I posted this in the General Discussion forum, but no one answered.
I made a tournament with 50 teams over 8 divisions (either 6 or 7 teams in each) scheduled to start on January 1st of the next season. I looked at the schedule and there were only 8 or so of the teams that were scheduled any games. I tried to clear the schedule and generate another schedule and I got an error message. Someone suggested making the divisions even, so I made 10 divisions of 5 teams each. I tried to generate a schedule and this time, no games were shown at all and I got another error message. Please help! Last edited by Rosco Peabody; 01-25-2018 at 09:39 AM. |

I can't be of much help but I can offer a suggestion. You might ask over in the mod section under schedules for help. What your asking for might be to big/complex for the generator so unless a developer chimes in, As I said , check in the mods section.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help but didn't want you to think that no one cares, I just don't know how to help. |

Sorry for the delay, we don't always get to every question immediately.
Double checking things, at the moment we actually only support an even number of teams in each division if you want to keep the schedule within the division. If you wish to have an odd number of teams in a division, you will need to manually import a schedule or build it yourself. Otherwise, you would have to re-arrange things so that you have an even number of teams in each division. So in your case, likely either 6 divisions of 7 and one of 8, or 5 divisions of 10. You can alter the number of games, so you can have a division of 10 teams that don't all play each other (ie. if you still want each team to play only 4 or 5 games, that's fine). We'll look to add a message warning about the odd team configuration. Maybe some day we'll also get the RR scheduler to work with the odd teams, but that's a little more complicated to handle (as scheduling the single team bye is a little more complicated than the system we have now). |

Is there something I'm not understanding here? I thought I would have to have an even number of teams in each division, so how would this work? |
