Yes. I create . . . ME! That is, I play historical MLB but with fictional players, coaches, and GM's, one of whom is me starting in 1901.
So, I begin as Bru (actual name redacted), age 48. At the same time, I create Bru, Jr. and have him get some experience managing in the minors. By the time Bru is ready to retire, Bru, Jr. is ready to take over. He is followed by Bru III, Bru IV, and so on. It's a family dynasty, supported by commissioner powers and "Cannot be fired." We will never be overthrown!

-- reply to OP i make the owner a fake family member... it looks like surnames change this year, i'll have to do some editting ![]() i've made players in the past, but not something i typically do. they were not anyone i knew either. you can create different qualities and let the AI decide... maybe random is one option? or if you want a certain quality, make a few of that quality then pick the configuration you like and delete the others. (create fictional player - > available action drop down on free agent list or even the list all mlb players list i believe. then some options are available to choose from) Last edited by NoOne; 04-05-2017 at 04:54 PM. |

Hopefully you have "Cannot be fired" in your marriage contract.

One of my abandoned dynasty threads, I created Ricky Branch as a player. When the player retired, I created a human manager in his name and started my managerial career. I also created his son to start his pro career.
That league is now in year 60. Ricky's son is now my human manager and Ricky's grandson just retired from playing. They're not me by name, but Ricky's FaceGen is in fact my face.

Yep. Pretty much every sports sim I've ever played, I put me and some old game-playing friends in. Most of the time I switch dynasties after a few years...but not in OOTP. I sim slowly, so I'm only in 2036 with the same dynasty that I put 'me' in a couple of (real life) years ago b/c I was enjoying it so much. I'm now running the expansion Hawaii Islanders and just hired myself to manage.

Nope, never. I suck at sports or anything that involves more activity than eating, and including myself would thus completely soil immersion.

When you guys above create family members who are GMs... are you running their teams as well or are you letting their teams run on autopilot until you are ready to promote them to your team. What I ask is are you running more than one team at a time? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have seen a manager's fictional picture that looks extremely close to myself and I didn't touch any settings! Even my wife was like "Whoa!"

It's still around at allsimbaseball.com as long as you still have your key for it.

Wife is an owner.
I'm a player - fair power but strike out lots. Good arm, tho. Typically play RF in A ball.

I created my younger self as a clone of Mike Schmidt. So far I have struggled in the majors. My daughter is a manager in the minors.

I used to pick a stud in the draft and edit his name to mine and then let happen whatever happened (in other words I wouldn't draft "myself"). But after flaming out each time and never making the majors I stopped. If I wanted a repeat of history I'd pull out some of my old 8mm films. I play games for fantasy.
