Can we manually place players onto tournament teams.
Say I want a different player than one chosen, can we do that. I go into the player editor and I see no WBC for example under "league selected" in ordere to place him on that team.
Are we limited to what the AI chooses each year?

You can set it up annually or once ever 2, 3 or 4 years and even determine when the tournament will first start. With that setup I was able to create a WBC and under 23 Olympic tournament (to sorta simulate young non-pros) and have them staggered WBC, off year, Olympics, off year, WBC etc. Pretty sweet.

yes it's setup up exactly how it played out in 2017. 16 teams qualifying round 1 of 4 groups. then round 2 takes top 2 from each group (8 teams) and makes two groups of four that play in a round robin. Top 2 from each of the 2 groups then move on to single elimination semi-final and final. You can customize all this including how many teams you want.

No thats just the first round. He's talking about the 4 qualifying tournaments played in the years before. No it does not.

My question I set up a WBC on my fiction but have get to sim waiting for the Friday complete release. I manually went and added secondary nationalitiest to many players. So when the AI picks teams will get the best of the best from both primary and secondary. Classes. Or get people whose first nationality is what ever that nation is once done and there's holes only then fill the rest of the squad with secondary guys? Any issues on fictional leagues?

Question, can you provide your Olympic settings and how many teams in the tournament? What time of the year do you run it?

No, but it should be simple to recreate. First create four-four team tournaments and schedule them every four years, one year before the next WBC. So, on 2020.

How teams should be selected?
Basically assign the last team of each WBC 2017 First Round pool to a tournament.

And then fill the remaining 12 teams using the WBSC Ranking as a guide

What would look like today if we based on real results and not in OOTP simulation:
Chinese Taipei
China
Canada
Mexico

These four teams finished last in Pool A, B, C and D, respectively.

The remaining teams, based on WBSC Ranking currently are:
14. Czech Republic
15. Panama
16. Nicaragua
17. Brazil
20. Germany
21. Spain
22. Argentina
23. Russia
24. Pakistan
25. France
26. New Zealand
27. Hong Kong

I would assign to tournament Qualifier 1:
China and 3 teams randomly from that group
Czech Republic
Germany
Pakistan

I would assign to tournament Qualifier 2:
Chinese Taipei and 3 teams randomly from that group.
Panama
Spain
France

I would assign to tournament Qualifier 3:
Canada and 3 teams randomly from that group.
Nicaragua
Argentina
New Zealand

I would a assign to tournament Qualifier 4:
Mexico and 3 teams randomly from that group
Brazil
Russia
Hong Kong

Once you have that ready, play each tournament, modified double elimination if possible.

Each winner should qualify to WBC2021

So once you have those teams ready, you would need to edit the real WBC in OOTP and make the necessary adjustments.

The Olympic is a template just like the wbc you can choose so i just choose that one. It picks 7 teams and a host team that was random. It plays on years the wbc doesn't but I haven't played it yet. I staggered the two.

Ok I see you can choose rosters.
You can only do it on the roster choice day. Sim to that day, then go into the tournament setting...and you can take a look at all the players available. If they have less than 30 then they players are automatic. If they have more than 30 available a small tab on the left lets you choose the players and move them in and out of the roster.


Secondly, I did notice that the ghost players are being rated as if they were coming from 2017 creation mods. So if you do one in the dead ball era, the ghost players will not be great, but they will have higher HR than usual, and pitchers higher K than the year modifiers would suggest.
