Missing files

Anyone know of a safe way to fix this problem:

The program can't start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-l1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer

Pops up when trying to run OOTP 18.

Did you reinstall Visual C++ 2005? Check out the thread about people having issues with OOTP 18 and the re installation of Visual C++ 2005. Your problem might be related.

It might be. That issue did come up. I thought that the C++ was installed but I'm not 100%positive it did. I'll probably try to reinstall. Appreciate the response.

Did that. Installed. Uninstalled. Installed. No luck.

This might have a lot to do with the fact the laptop I have is 8 years old and still runs on Windows 7? OOTP17 ran great. I wish it was possible to just grab the missing file.

Nah. No longer a problem. I ended up buying a new laptop just to play this game and utilize the 3D for the first time. !!
