Red Sox Retired Numbers
In regards to next year's game please add Ortiz as a retired number, and fix the error where the write up in the Retired Numbers screen for the Sox lits a blurb for Dwight Evans for #26 instead of Wade Boggs.

I believe this belongs in the roster set/problems thread. I'll link it for you.

I'd actually suggest posting this in the bug report forums, due to the issue with Evans and Boggs. Ortiz's number should get added automatically by us before 18 ships.

Ortiz's number won't actually be retired until a ceremony next year, so it would not be correct to have it retired in Opening Day rosters.

Well, OOTP always includes retired numbers from the start of the season, because there's no facility for the AI to retire a number on a certain date and otherwise the AI would assign #34 to some scrubinee or free agent signing.
Besides, it's not like the Red Sox are going to give #34 to someone in Spring Training next February, only to take it off of him when the ceremony rolls around. It's effectively retired as of yesterday.

#26 was retired in OOTP rosters this year, despite not being officially retired until midseason. This means #34 should be retired next year (in OOTP) for consistency.

Dont you setimes see that happen with teams that have a lot of retired numbers? Not sure about MLB, but I think its happened in the NFL.

That's the NFL, not MLB.

The closest, most recent thing was when the White Sox issued #11 to Omar Vazquez because Ozzie Guillen already had #13. But that was only done after Luis Aparicio gave his approval and blessing.
