I'm the OP. I am, for the record, using nVidia drivers 3.67 on a 960. I'm too much in love with Ubuntu MATE 16.04 to stay with 14.04, on which the game worked fine. Hopefully, the Ubuntu and OOTP devs will straighten this out.

I am running the game in 16.04. On 14.04 in a VM.

Better than nothing, but where are the devs?

You're running the game on both Ubuntu versions now. But not through Steam or what is the problem? Thanks.

He's just running it on 14.04 in a virtual machine. So it still doesn't work in 16.04 with Steam. Anything I can test?

Do you have the latest driver for your graphic card installed?

Yes 367.35 is the latest version but all-in-all I've tried probably about 5 different driver versions as well as a different video card.
