That's exactly where they were at this point last year. This team looked like it had much better depth, but not so much! They'll be ok in the end, I'm certain, but it's making for a frustrating ride.

Well. At least Fernandez won't no-hit them today. That's my victory for today.

They're going to need to make a mid season move for another bat, not as dramatic as the Cespedis deal, just a " professional hitter"

I stayed up late yesterday to catch the first leg of the double header, which was depressing already. Imagining having to sit through two of those back-to-back makes me shudder now.

SNY presents: two blind horses dragging themselves over the ground 20 feet removed on either side of a pile of fodder.

Every Mets game I see is one of those slow motion train wrecks at best, and footage of a burning orphanage at worst. Why is that?

Ah, right. I forgot. The Mets suck. My bad.

Oh look, the Mets are playing and I am in a hostile mood. I wonder why that is.

Mets suck - completely unwatchable.

Thankfully only night games this week so I won't be tempted to submit myself to even more of this sucking. However, if you see me casually and/or accidentally tuning in for next Sunday's game, give me a friendly slap on the paw in advance.

The Mets are a mess in their own right, but watching from Germany, I don't get the normal commercials, I get German commercials on MLB.tv.

At no point in time over the last five years that I have had MLB.tv have their been more than three spots in the pseudo-rotation. So that means: the same two or three spots after EVERY half inning, during EVERY pitching change.

The choice is sometimes... baffling. It's a sports show. So I assume the demographic watching - which in Germany will be tiny enough - will be mostly male. When I watch other stuff by other means and get the US or Canadian commercials, it's what I would expect from commercials during a broadcast targeted at a male audience, which means Budweiser, Ford F-150, Home Depot, and Viagra.

Not so in Germany! While one of the two spots in the pseudo-rotation right now is for carrier Vodafone and is more on the annoying side (so annoying and stupid and dumb it actually makes me angry every five minutes), the other one is for ... nail polish. Actually. NAIL POLISH.

I just ... can't. How ...??

I can only imagine that the poor soul having to market the commercial breaks in Germany was happy to get five bucks from somebody, anybody. I don't know...

Meanwhile the Mets are losing in anemic fashion, as usual. I wanted to watch the double header in entirety, but with this one running long and being no fun... ah...

Sorry, I had really nowhere else to vent about this.

Also, seeing Matt Bowman on the Bloody Birds makes me sad. Two spring trainings ago I thought the Mets might have something in him.

Sigh.

...but we're still wasting time and effort with Rafael Montero, who's been demoted back to Binghamton...

I have to stop watching the Mets and playing the Raccoons side by side. It's double-whammy sadness galore.

The Mets could have three on, nobody out, in a tied game in the bottom of the ninth, and wouldn't score on a balk. The Raccoons just hit into double plays in the 12th, 13th, 14th inning, long enough to finally lose. The Raccoons have scored more than four runs in 12 of their last 40 games.

Okay, the Raccoons ARE the Mets.

Ah, what am I doing with my life...??

You're at home for the week, you get to see the Mets each day. It's Thursday, and I'm glad I'm back to work on Monday. What a terrible collection of no-good ....... whatevers! None of those suckers belongs on a diamond. I'd sell all of them to the salt mines!

Familia might be the worst. Overrated wet towel of a wannabe pitcher.

Yes, my sympathies, especially watching these 9th inning defensive antics by the Mets. Wow.

trade alert.... Mets get Jay Bruce from the Reds for Brandon Nimmo and two lower level prospects (no names in the alert).

Another strikeout bat, exactly what this team needs. Pffff.

Edit: MLB.com says that the trade is on hold due to Brandon Nimmo's foot. That kid was never healthy for more than five minutes. I bet he's got a peg leg by now and that's the issue...

Yup, I'm cynical. Watching the '16 Mets has made a pre-existing condition unbearable, though.

Nimmo discarded, Mets get Bruce for 2B Dilson Herrera and A-level LHP Max Wotell.

While Bruce won't help them one lick, at least they got a position cleared for Wilmer to play next year. Finally. That poor kid played everything from short to third to first to carrying Terry's lunch box.

No proper catcher, though, huh? More of Travis D'oh then, I guess.
