September 3rd,1986 Game 133 Rangers vs. Red Sox

Texas actually scored in this game but it wasn't enough as the Red Sox complete the sweep with a 5-2 win. Tom Seaver pitched 8 strong innings allowing 2 runs 1 earned and struck out 6. The Sox took advantage of some poor Rangers fielding to score two of their runs and Boggs, Barrett, and Baylor all knocked in runs.

September 5th,1986 Game 134 Twins vs. Red Sox

The Twins roughed up Roger Clemens and the Red Sox 5-1. Frank Viola was sharp allowing 4 hits and 1 run over 8 1/3 innings. Randy Bush provided the Twins with all the offense they would need as he smashed a 2 run bomb in the 2nd innings.

Twins take game 2 of the series 7-3 as the Sox couldn't mount much offense against Mark Portugal. Boggs,Buckner,Barrett all had 2 hits.

Bill Buckner had 3 hits and Don Baylor hit his 28th home run of the year and the Red Sox salvage the last game of the series beating the Twins the 4-3 W.

The Blue Jays are clinging now to a 2 game lead over the Tigers and in the AL West the Angels hold a 5 game lead. In the NL East, the Mets magic number is 3 and in the NL West the Astros magic number is 7.

Game 2: Brewers score 5 runs in the top of the 2nd off Jeff Sellers and that was more than enough to put the Sox away. Final score 5-1.
