I did this in the past in both OOTP and Football Manager and it's rewarding. Loved getting immersed into your story, too.

I am hoping to get back into the game. I haven't touched OOTP for quite a while now. I'm almost tempted to wait until OOTP16 to really start this fictional game and get into it.

How did you create that map? I want to do something similar but I cannot figure out how to create a good map.

haha sorry for the late reply. I just googled something like "fictional world map". Found one I liked and then split some of the bigger countries/states into smaller ones. I then did a random city/town name generator on some website. I like to think this is an island off the southern coast of England.

I just did Text Boxes. Did that in Microsoft Word.

I am going start planning this out before OOTP16 is "good to go". I have two options for how to set up the game....

Option #1:
1940-1954 (12 teams)
1955-1969 (14 teams)
1970-1984 (16 teams)
1985-1999 (18 teams)
2000-present (20 teams)

Option #2:
1900-1919 (8 teams)
1920-1939 (10 teams)
1940-1954 (12 teams)
1955-1969 (14 teams)
1970-1984 (16 teams)
1985-1999 (18 teams)
2000-present (20 teams)

I think 20 teams will be a good number. I do have 4 more cities set for if I ever want to move to 24.

Well dang!! I thought I kept the World_default file that I edited to include my fictional country, but I must have deleted it by accident. Ugh.

I'm going to give this fictional world another shot. I have been in an OOTP rut and want to re-energize and I think this is the one to do it. Which option would you go with for the initial set up?

Option #1:
1940-1954 (12 teams)

Giving this another go. I am currently simulating until end of 2015 season and expanding along the way. Hopefully the LTM I have are set ones that are good.
