Should I pull the trigger on this trade?

I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this trade, i've improved the marlins so much (there playoff contenders) my pitching rotation isnt great so i think id be getting a lot better pitching although fernandez is the best out of the trade id be getting 2 good depth pitchers and a great bullpen tool. Plus in my Win Now rebuilding i traded away all my draft picks (i only use 12 rounds since its only AAA and AA in my world because of my computer) so I'd be getting 3 picks with it and a 2nd round pick is great. But on the other hand I don't want to give up fernandez is this trade worth it?

All that matters is that it is worth it to you... Most of us wouldn't do stuff like this...

Strictly on baseball terms I'm generally not going to give up a young pitcher that I know to be an ace. You generally don't want to trade young stars for "depth"... but its your world, do what you want to do.

I just did it, I figure Hyun-Jin Ryu Will be a solid pitcher not quite as good as Jose Fernandez but to think ill be getting a depth pitcher and a solid Reliever/Closer out of wilson and I resigned him for 1 year at 3.2 Mil a year. Plus 3 draft picks which i could use after trading all mine away and i had to give up a guy i don't ever see being better than a backup in Ortega and a what I'd describe as a little bit above average Reliever in Roberto Hernandez (hes been good for me in the month i've had him).

This is like the Mets trading Matt Harvey or Jacob deGrom for I don't even know. A slightly above average closer, a #2/3 SP, a #4 SP, and 3 prospects. I cannot tell you how much I'd destroy the Mets if they did that.

But, your dynasty. Good luck with this one!

You traded away all 12 of your draft picks? wow that's crazy. I usually trade to get as many as I can.

In my fictional league their are only 3 round drafts and I will nearly always have 10 picks.Once I had 19 picks.

Make the trade, but start looking for a way out of town after the season, with young talent gone and no draft picks, it will get ugly.

DO IT DO IT Fernandez is well worth it.... I have him on my team and he goes gang busters for me and the anchor #1 spot and even gave him a 10 year contract to keep his cost down .... year 7 into contract and been well worth it big time.

No way. This is a great trade for the Dodgers.

(Turn off trading draft picks! That isn't baseball!)

IMO, obviously.

Or how about Billy Beane sending Russell and McKinley for 2 pitchers that were pitching good in the NL. Rarely does it work out for a pitcher going to the AL. At this point I'm not even sure the A's will get a compensation pick for Samardjiza in 2015. I can see him turning down the arbitration offer but who would give up a pick and pay an enormous salary for him?

Thought he learned his lesson with Cargo and Ethier. Never give up your elite prospects. You can always find a team that will dump a good player on a slightly poor contract, no need to ever move your top farm studs.

If it's fun for him, that's all that matters.

gave up 4 top prospects and 2 good MLB players and money to get him. Literally took me 2 weeks to find a way to get him.

thought I would share how he has done for me. Am curious how he is doing in your game??

The Point of the game is too win right? I'm not a marlins fan in real life so I don't have an "attachment" to any of the players which makes trading away guys real easy if they aren't playing too well. I'm trying to build the best team I can and Signing Castillo and Trading for Trout was part of my way to build the best team..

And heres the Trout trade just so you know I'm not cheating I gave up a lot including my 5 Star Catching prospect . And a 1B prospect who was doing pretty good.
