Sergio suffered from Roy Jones disease ... he had very little fundamentals just relied on speed to get away from punches ... once the speed was gone he had nothing else to fall back on .... just not sure it was Cotto or if it was Sergio no longer having what made him very good .... not sure where Cotto goes next ... obviously not GGG

Roach was right, he said Sergio was a great athlete but he has the better fighter. |

I think that the result is an outlier in that Algieri would win at most two out of ten fights. He is Sergio Mora most likely.

yeah I wouldn't go nuts but he is better than his rating in the game I would think .... I thought you could give him every round after the first one last night and not be embarrassed by it ... I had it 114-112 Ruslan but I was coming up with reasons to give him rounds

GGG was impressive once again - 9's don't usually blow 8's out like that!

Yeah after seeing him now in a few fights, you wonder just how good/great is this guy? After that blowout of a decent fighter & former champ in Geale, I read some guys are already talking ATG category or getting closer. Now I can see why Felix Sturm avoided GGG in Germany. +2 defense, 7 endurance, and 9 vs sluggers. I think the only fighters that will give him problems are those that come right after him. I think he needs room to punch.

Yeah good point, I never saw the fight but I read that Kassim Ouma gave him a rough night until GGG finally ended matters in the 10th.

Fred russell?
Hi, guys. Just wondering if Jeffries Era heavyweight big Fred Russell is in the official database? Just a large aggressive plodder with no real defence (seemed to use his left only to ward off right-handers) but an impressive right hand if it could land, kinda like Max Baer's I think. Hard kid, raised on farm, could take a beating but when over-matched and out-boxed would usually resort to fouls and hope the referee would turn a blind eye.
Cap P.S. Just read the blow-by-blow of his fight with Jack Root. Finally seemed to have developed a rudimentary jab. I've updated his ring record on boxrec. He's now 17-14-4 with 13 KOs.
