Global Fictional Universe

I've done a few fictional leagues but first time posting one of them. It's my biggest project yet.

There are currently three major leagues:
  • American Baseball League (ABL) - 40 fictional teams
  • Canadian Baseball League (CBL) - 10 fictional teams
  • Union of European Baseball Association (UEBA) - 40 teams based on real football (soccer) teams

ABL Features (League Rep: 10):
  • 40 team major league (2 conferences, 4 divisions, 5 teams per division)
  • full minors (AAA, AA, A, shortseason A, Rookie)
  • NCAA college feeder league (100+ teams)
  • High School Baseball League (40 real teams)

CBL Features (League Rep: 7):
  • 10 team major league (2 conferences, 5 teams per division)
  • one AA league, served as a development league
  • CIS college feeder league (12 teams)
  • High School League (32 teams, 2 conferences, 2 divisions, 8 teams per division) - all fictional teams

UEBA Features (League Rep: 9):
  • 40 team major league (same structure as ABL) - includes real football teams from the best of Europe
  • Minors system (AAA, AA, A, R) which each serve as a Reserves team, U25s, U23s, and U21s respectively, although maximum ages for the latter three leagues are 26, 24, and 22.
  • no feeders

The ABL and CBL will mostly have fictional logos and jerseys, although some team names are identical to real life teams in the big four sports, so some will be the same.

UEBA will be a bit different. Real football teams, so real life logos, and maybe jerseys that I've found through the search function here.

The ABL is the most stable, because I actually spent the most time with it. I made the Canadian League with the ABL before but this Canadian League I've totally redone from ground up. I've only been doing the UEBA bit by bit over the past 3 days so it's more experimentation and not tested at all.

I'll try and post some screenshots soon.

So I have good news and bad news.

Bad news is that the initial version of the universe will not be released for a bit. There are a bit of problems with all 3 leagues together and I'm trying to fix it. I made a mistake trying to import a template during mid-season, and all hell has broke loose.

So unfortunately, if you are anxious for the first release, you will have to wait a bit because I will have to redo some things.

Good news though: I managed to find the original quickstart I've made for the American and Canadian League (although that league will not be identical to what I wrote in the OP) from 13 when I started with this project, and have imported it into 15. At the end of the post, there will be a file attached (WINRAR) allowing you to download and have fun. It was one of my earlier fictional builds, so it's very bare-bones ish.

I also posted some screenshots below, as promised:

American Baseball Association

NCAA College - It's not the most realistic (eg. Big East, Northwestern), but I don't really plan on changing anything here.

Canadian Baseball League

CIS

ABA and CBL Download

Things are missing, like locations, logos. But I'll put them in soon. CBL league structure will stay like the one in the picture. It works (for the most part). The American league has been developed over 2 OOTPs so nothing to worry there.

Please leave comments (the good, the bad, the ugly ) so I can improve on my current work.

Thanks in advance and UEBA will hopefully be coming soon.

So, I'm having enough fun with remaking UEBA that I'm going to try and come up with 2 alternatives (and maybe three):

Alternative C is basically replacing the Greek clubs with Serbian clubs Red Star Belgrade and Partizan.

Here's some screenshots of the UEBA structure, and one of it's teams: Chelsea FC

League Structure: Clicky

That's pretty much the structure. Maybe I could have just had a Reserve League and a Youth League like real life (and some teams don't even participate in a Reserve League), but I think this structure is good.

And here's screenshots of Chelsea FC:

Home Screen

So can you can see from the right, all of Chelsea's farm teams also bear the Chelsea name. I considered using real life feeder clubs taken from FM14, but I think just using these Reserve and Under teams would be a lot easier in the long run.

Settings

All teams will hopefully (if I can find the info) have a real life owner. Here at Chelsea, Roman will be reincarnated and you will have to deal with his trigger happy finger of sacking managers. Roman will not accept 2nd place in the League!

All owners will have their real life ages in 1977 (the start of the league universe).

Real stadiums will be included (at least the name and capacity). Weather will be included where there is info.

Ballcaps and Jerseys

All teams will have real logos of course, and hopefully real jerseys as well. Not every team has real jerseys though. I have accumulated these jerseys through some real searching of the OOTP forums, and I will probably have to ask the graphics forum for more jerseys. I will upload this with some generic jerseys at first. But my plan is to have all real football jerseys as baseball ones in the quickstart (eventually).

Ballcaps are a much lower priority.

What's probably left for me to do is to finish up 9 more club graphics, and redo some the uglier logos, fix up the Canadian league, and it should be ok to finally do some testing.

I have redone many of the things in the universe, and I am ready for the latest release:

Download Link

Version Notes:

The original file in the OP has been redone: I discovered some duplicates in the ABA minor leagues and it should be fixed now.

NEW
:

UEBA: The initial version of my UEBA league has been complete (Alternative A). All teams have been created based upon real soccer clubs. The clubs in this quickstart are exactly as stated in Alternative A, in the same divisions. The minor league teams are in random divisions.

Some teams in UEBA have real jerseys exactly the same as their soccer counterparts. I will have to thank Isedelyod and another person (I don't remember where I got them, but if you download this, you know some of the work is yours), so thanks to those two individuals for their jerseys/caps.

Club logos are taken from Soccerway. They have very nice looking logos and are 150x150, which is the perfect size for making fictional leagues because the logo sizes are exactly the same.

Club information (stadium info, jersey colours) taken from Soccerway and Wikipedia.

ABA: I decided to keep the league name and current structure over the league name in the OP. Everything else is the same though. Thanks to justafan and cephasjames for the all logos in the American league as well as the High School Baseball League. Thanks to nutt and those who helped him (sounds like a guy forum username ) for the NCAA teams and jerseys/caps.

The league format is exactly the same as in the OP (nothing has changed other than the team names)

CBL: Added five teams (one CBL team and one CNML team, and 3 CIS teams). Not totally complete yet, but my priority has been the UEBA league the past week or so.

Some things of note:
  • The ABA and UEBA inaugural drafts are 162 rounds long. If you start the draft, please finish it, or the game will crash after it autofinishes
  • Because the game is processing 380 rounds (162 x 2 + 56), you should have a decent computer all the processing.
  • Team budgets have been calculated based on population by default. You can reset it if you wish.
  • All feeder leagues have zero players. I did this to lessen the download size a bit. Please add them when you start the game.
  • The initial draft classes will not have enough players from feeder leagues, so I have enabled a separate draft pool of players. The problem should solve itself after the initial players graduate from high school/college
  • Please set the draft class ages for college leagues to be 18-22 (and allow players to eligible for the draft at that age, and likewise 14-18 for high school leagues. Sorry forgot to change that. You probably need to do that for a few seasons to fill up the number of drafted players to not rely on another separate draft pool.
  • Stats and finances have been left alone. I don't know how to deal with them. It's my first big league project but I'm still a rookie, like a mid round pick trying to stick in the bigs after riding buses for a few years.

Questdog's names have also been used with this quickstart. As for inspiration, it's thanks to SkyDog and his NABA quickstart.

As always, please post here for any comments, questions, etc. And if you have trouble running this or you have suggestion to make this better, please tell me.

I am currently considering reducing the UEBA league to a major league, a minor league (to simulate a soccer Reserve league), and a rookie league (to simulate a youth league). If there's enough interest, I'll make an alternate.

And also, thanks to the 10 people who downloaded the file in the OP. Please try this file, it's a lot better.
