Origin of Compensation Picks
When OOTP determines the "Draft Order", I can see that multiple teams have multiple picks in certain rounds, or some teams have a pick in a round that should belong to another team. And I understand that this is due to compensation for free agents signed from the previous offseason. But does OOTP actually tell you anywhere which FA signings resulted in which compensation picks? It would be nice if it did, even if only for me to check up on OOTP and make sure it wasn't making a mistake. Right now I'm just blindly trusting that it's got it right. For example, maybe in the draft log report it could describe the origin of each compensation pick there, or in the "Draft Order" screen, hovering over a pick could tell you where it came from.
If this information doesn't currently exist somewhere, I know it won't get into OOTP14, but maybe something for OOTP15? Good idea? |

This is a good idea and I hope it can be added to v15.

Excellent idea, draft picks in general need significant improvement.
And compensation picks should be implemented properly. As it is (assuming one is playing under the 2012 CBA rules, as far as I can tell, I haven't played with the Type As / Type Bs in OOTP14), players still have to meet a certain "quality threshold" to be eligible for a compensation pick, like the former A/B free agents, when in reality, the only conditions they have to meet are A) spending the entire season on one team, and B) being offered, and declining, a qualifying offer by said team. |

yeah, it's frustrating how easy it would be to make the compensation work correctly, yet it is implemented so poorly.

I wouldn't be so sure about it being to do easily. Many a time I've seen features that seemed easy on the surface that were actually difficult for Markus to program, and other features that seemed complex were actually easy to do. Something to keep in mind.

it would seem the current way is way harder.
Has player been on team for current season-yes(same either current implementation or correct implementation) Offer player qualifying offer-yes or no. (current implementation, only able to offer Yes if random statistical criteria are met, correct way leaves all this out) If a guy sucks or is not worth more on the FA market, he just takes the QO instead of rejecting it. Maybe rejection logic could use a bit of a fix, but the current incorrect way the game handles it is surely a lot more difficult than doing it correctly IMO

FWIW I calculate my fictional league QO to be $12,556,285 vs $13.3 IRL. Not bad agreement. Edit What I've never seen is a player taking the qualifying offer (or arbitration) in OOTP.

Has anyone tried to put in the Competitve Balance Round for low-market teams. I thought about doing that.
