First year free agents asking for too much money in Indy minor leagues
Every time I create free agents destine for my small scale salary (single A AA level) independent league, where minimum salaries are $2000, they still ask for $400000+.
Shouldn't their salary demands be commensurate with the league they are created in? Like, if they are created in a Major League, they'd ask for 400000+, If they are created in an Independent minor league level, they should ask for a salary related to that league. It worked that way in the past... |

Or, at least commensurate with their level of development. Independent Leaguers should not as for a $414,000 in their first year.
In the past versions, free agents salaries ran from the lowest league minimum salary to the highest. That allowed AI run indy minor leagues to sign players. Right now, any league like that under a Major League can sign anyone because they ask for too high a salary. Hence, the free agent system is broken. |

This is a problem for any league that has MLB and a competing league. In my ELB vs MLB league with modern 2012 MLB competing vs the EBL with it's 1982 finances, no EBL team can sign FA from it's league. I even have that FA's can not leave this league. The EBL National League 2006 is asking for 6.5 million and is still a FA as of May 7th. Every season I am forced to manually resign EBL players (mostly the edited players) so that they stay in the EBL vs signing with MLB or the CBF and their 2003 finances.

Change the PCM's so that the Indy players aren't as talented as the Major league players. Now they won't ask for major league money.
Easy way to do this is to copy the saber modifiers from one of your minor leagues. (Or just change the indy league from major to A, AA, or AAA and it will adjust the PCM's automatically) you don't need to touch the traditional modifiers. |

Doesn't have any effect ![]() Now, if I kill the Major League, the salary demands line up more with the associated leagues. But I want the Major League to pluck the best players from the Indy leagues as the years go on and they improve. Last edited by drksd4848; 08-30-2013 at 07:51 PM. |

1) Is the Indy league flush with cash?
2) Is the ML flush with cash? 3) Anyone think there is a possibility the Indy league money is combined with the ML money? If so then I would assume the Indy league players would expect ML money. Are the Indy league FA demands inline, above or below ML demands of similar players?

One thing I did do with my Indy league recently was to set it as an unaffiliated minor league under the MLB. For reference: http://www.nationalsarmrace.com/?tag=clay-davenport Last edited by SirMichaelJordan; 08-30-2013 at 08:24 PM. |

I'm guessing that the FA's are looking at money available in the game universe rather than the league itself. So, they look at all the money in the MLB and want a piece of it. If FA's aren't allowed to leave, they should just look at the money in the league they're in. If they are allowed to leave, then letting them "see" the MLB money makes sense.

I would start the Atlantic League at Rookie level PCM's then scale down to maybe even high school for the lesser talented Indy Leagues. This way most of the players created by those leagues will just be good minor league players with the occasional average Major league player coming out of those leagues. Guys undrafted from the major league draft pool, players that were cur and left over Int complex players along with aging vets should raise the talent level of the Indy leagues but the league itself shouldn't create that much talent.
