The tour was nice, far too fast and way to much 'grip and grin' for me, would have much rather hung out and chatted with the soldiers.
I am going to get Chicago up and running again. I am debating on waiting for '14 or not, as I am literally at opening day.
But Orcin's resurgence has inspired me to at least get it back up and running.

I would honestly wait until the first or second patch on 14 to import a league to 14. The first release day of the game will be where a lot of people find a lot of bugs (as usual) and then after the patches it is worth importing a league you consider important.

Welcome back!

Been away far too long. Was debating on waiting, but decided to go ahead with the 2019 season before 14 comes out. Had to read back the past few pages to 'jump start' just where I was and what the mind set was.

Hugh Collins leaving at years end is a distinct possibility, and I left off with what would be a pretty huge trade on the table involving Wes Morgan, one of my favs.

So I am going to get the ball rolling again and see what happens. The team is starting to feel very "1990's Atlanta" like, and that's not good. Need to put some hardware on the shelf.

4/1 CHI 8 COL 3 Eric Coates' 2 run 1st inning double helped stake Roberto Martinez (1-0) to an early 3-0 lead. Martinez went 5-7-3-3-6-7 and three relievers tossed 4 scoreless. Riggs, Salinas, Miller and Coates had 2 hit days, with Coates and Riggs driving in 2 each. Salinas also scored 3.
4/2 OFF DAY-Roughriders sign former Hooks closer Danny Davis (2-7 36 SV 4.72 '18) to a 2 year 3.88M dollar deal.
4/3 CHI 11 COL 3 Hugh Collins drove in 4 on 3 hits and George Knox had a bases loaded triple. Eric Coates hit the 1st HR of the year. Ken Lee (1-0) went 6.2-7-3-3-1-8 in the win.

After the game Lorenzelli came to terms on a 3 year 3.1M contract extension. An outstanding deal for the club. Just wanted to say a hearty welcome back -- and another thank you for what we discussed in private -- but I have a piece of advice.

I think it's great that you decided to start with your 2019 season. As much as we'd all love to jump feet first into 14 the second it drops, remember that there will be time needed for bug fixes and the like, before you risk such an amazing dynasty to a possible bug or a corruption.

Just saying. Glad to see you back, and great work on BB Tonight!

ORG NEWS-Michel Chauveau (BEL A) went 5-6 in a 14-0 win as Belleview moves to an astonishing 38-1 on the year. This is made even more amazing in that, while I've certainly worked to draft, sign and develop, I haven't loaded ANY minor league teams with older talent to win games. This is being done by 19-22 year old players, with 1 5*, 7 1.5-2* and the rest 1 star players. They are 1st in every category except HR's, where they are 4th. They have a run differential of 232! (304-72). A starting ERA of 1.72, Pen ERA of 1.77 and a .335 team BA, .410 OBP.

WEEK 6 SUMMARY
FL POTW-Armando Arredondo (EDM) 8-16 2 HR's 4 RBI's (.304-6-15)

INJURY NEWS-Bill Alexander has a shoulder issue that is going to sideline him for at least 2, maybe 3 weeks. Going to take the opportunity to move Cooper Bannatyne onto the 40 man, call him up and move Hugh Collins to LF for a few weeks. Cooper is a superior defender in CF, and I need to see what the OF might start looking like if Collins does leave after this season.

WEEK 9 Start, and May ends monster blowout and someone signs..

5/27 GB12 CHI 6 Carl Crawford (GB) 4-6 2 RBI's Josh Hamilton 3-5 2 RBI's Chris Thornton 3-4 2 RBI's 2B (5) HR (7). Garcia 7 hits 5 ER's in 1.2 IP of relief. Collins 3-4 HR (13) 2 RBI's (46)

INJURY NEWS-2016 1st rounder Jorge Trujillo has a torn labrum and will miss the next 8-9 months following surgery. The 23 year old was 2-3 5.67 and .254-4-13 in 23 games at AAA Tulsa.
5/29 CHI 7 SI 5 Rogers (5-2) 8-5-2-2-2-9 Cruz bails out Ellison in the 9th for Save 14. Chavez and Salinas 3 hits and 2 RBI's each. Knox 8th HR.
5/30 NY 4 CHI 3 Chavez (17) and Salinas (12) homer in the 1st off Tim Hudson (9-2) but he no-hits us the rest of the way and Jorge Ibarra's 3 run shot in the 3rd ties it, and Mark Doyles solo shot (2) in the 7th wins it. Randy Pennington was hurt in an appearance today, and it's likely he's out a week, which I don't believe I can afford. Masafumi Watanabe is lighting it up in Tulsa and on the roster, even though he's RH, he'll be recalled and Pennington will go on the 15 day.
GREAT GAMES-Mike Jones (COL) tossed the years 3rd no-no, but get this, he lost 2-0! 3B Norberto Lopez committed 3 errors leading to 2 unearned White Cap runs and Mike Lucas (2-7) and Tom Conklin (S9) combined on a 6 hit shutout for the win. It was the 1st no-hitter in Clipper history.
5/31 NY 7 CHI 5 bases loaded in the 9th and Salinas hits into DP. Collins (14) Morgan (14) Salinas (13) homer. Johnston (NY) 3-4, Glaus 14th HR. Chavez 24th SB. Hamilton (6-2) 7.1-10-6-5-2-6.

CL HITTER-Jesus Andrales (LV) .402-7-29 (.402-10-49)
FL PITCHER-Antonio Sandoval (COL) 4-1 1.77 (7-3 3.19)
CL PITCHER-Vincente Romero (HOU) 5-1 1.79 (6-4 3.89)
FL ROOKIE-Javier Martinez (BUF) .261-4-13 (.301-8-23)
CL ROOKIE-Chris Gray (TUL) .284-7-24 (.310-8-37)

ORG POTM
Andy Morgan (AA) 6-0 2.91 (7-4 3.63)
Glen Ratcliff (BEL A) 5-0 1.05

CONTRACT NEWS-Quietly, I've been discussing longer term options with a few younger players, Pedro Salinas being one. He's arbitration eligible at years end and likely in line for a rather large raise. I managed to get him to agree to a 6 year 23.64M dollar extension with a 750K buyout of the final year (at 6.44M) if need be. Base is 1.4, escalating a million a year for 5 years, a steal imo. Rare is the bat good enough to ink long term for a guy with no real position other than 1B (and he's not very good there), but his is certainly one of them. If something were to come about the contract makes him insanely tradeable if it came to that. Fan interest took a very nice jump!
