Realistic Stats (Fluke or Not, I'm Impressed)
I started a game earlier this year, playing each game rather than simming (more fun for me, just an opinion) and picked it back up just recently. Then, I noticed some statistics of a specific player - Ichiro Suzuki. In my game he played 80 games, and so just for fun I thought I'd compare his real life stats after 82 games. Here they are, with the top being the game and the bottom being real life.
I started the game in the 2012 season, so of course the 2009, 2010, and 2011 seasons are the exact same, but what strikes me is how identical the two 2012 seasons are:
Fictional: 80 G | 330 AB | 49 R | 87 H | 13 2B | 1 HR | 27 RBI | 24 BB | 27 K | 11 SB | .264 AVG | .313 OBP | .324 SLG
Real Life: 82 G | 340 AB | 40 R | 89 H | 14 2B | 3 HR | 27 RBI | 15 BB | 32 K | 11 SB | .262 AVG | .293 OBP | .356 SLG
Those are nearly identical stats. I've gotta say, I'm very impressed at the high level of realism in this game, even if it is a fluke. Just thought I'd share this with all of you.
