Post Outfield Positions from Lahman Database

I imported the 1982 season from the Lahman database, and I have noticed that most of the outfielders have been randomly assigned positions. In their historic fielding stats, they are all listed as having played centerfield, but most have accurate fielding ranges and ratings. But when line-ups are made, for example with the 82 Brewers, Ben Oglivie is in center, and Gorman Thomas is in left. Is this a flaw in the database? If I have to manually fix this, is it easier editing the players position form the "general" screen, or editing the depth charts? Will the computer AI revert to its own depth chart if a guy goes down with an injury? Any help would be appreciated.

Its a flaw in the database, the number of games at each position in the OF are not differentiated for many of the early seasons, so the game randomly assigns the outfield positions.

Edit the Players position to reflect the correct position, otherwise the AI controlled teams will adjust the lineups to the positions the player card says he plays.

Thanks for the quick response. It is a relatively minor thing.
