World Template Question

What is the difference between creating the league as a template and saving the .lg file?

What I do is create the league setup how I want it then before the inaugural draft I save my .lg file to the extension .template. This way if I screw up or just want to start over I just copy the .template file to a new .lg file.

okay I loaded the wpt file into the game but when I go to the draft page I have almost 3000 players for a league that only has 30 teams - no minors. When I create the league file I set it up and the original file has only 1390 players on the draft screen. Is there a way to alter the list to match the number of rounds for the initial draft?

dola

Okay this is what I am getting. When I save my league as a saved game file but change the extension to .template, I get 1380 players enough for my 45 man roster (25+20 reserve roster). When I save the file as a world template and have the initial draft it brings in 2760 players leaving 1440 in the free agent pool after the draft. I am trying to figure out where the extra players came from. I want to have the draft and only have the 30 players left undrafted. If I can't get the world template to work I will just use the system I am using now where I saved a league file on Jan 1, a day before the inaugural draft.

Also, the reason AI wanted to use the world template was because I think it rebuilds the player database and you won't have the same players in the game. With a saved file copied you get the same players so if you start your league over you already know who is going to perform well. Anybody have any answers to this issue?

Questions:

1. Is there anyway to have the world template not have so many players available for the inaugural draft?

2. Are the players the same each time you import the .wpt file into the game or do the names change?

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks.
