The New Delhi Bengals of the WLB are in need of a dedicated GM. The Bengals are poised for greatness boasting the top farm system in the WLB and 3 of the top 10 prospects. Guys like Jagajeet Veer, Abo Hedjkheperre-SeAbo, and Leon Garza, ensure that New Delhi will be a team to be reckoned with!
We are currently in the about to start the free agency period for the 2007 season. The WLB is fictional OOTP5 league with: - five years of OOTP history (four with OOTP4 and 1 season with OOTP5) - traditional ratings - finances on ($75 million salary cap) - coaches/scouts off - no DH - renamed players (for international effect) - live sims twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) of two game weeks - live amateur draft and All- Star Game We are also very newbie friendly and only require that you own OOTP5 and have some solo OOTP experience. Links to the league: http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/ http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/Reports/league.html A link to the league rules : http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/rules.htm A link to the New Delhi team: http://www.wlb.ootp-leagues.com/Reports/team14.html If you are interested, please email me at ben.music@testquest.com with your name, your experience and why you'd like to join us in the WLB. An AIM handle is very nice to have as well, but not strictly required. We look forward to hearing from you!

Join now - the WLB is endorsed by the Queen of England herself!
Seriously, this league is A-1 quality with a great group of dedicated owners. The competition is fierce yet friendly. Check us out and then plan on boarding the next flight to New Delhi - better stock up on your red meat before you leave though.

If you're a builder, this is the team for you. Right now, New Delhi has four workhorse starters in the rotation, a fine young leftfielder in Duraswa Vana, and not much else. And their AAA team is nothing to write home about. But...
The Bengals' AA and A teams are so loaded, New Delhi's farm system is No. 1-ranked by a considerable margin. In a couple of seasons, with the right guidance, this team could be looking very good. The WLB is a solid league, with a number of long-time GMs whose activity level is quite high. And it's just a really friendly place. How about getting into the World?

Gladiators' starter Tomas Gromaba, the Eastern Hemisphere's ROY and MVP in 2005, explains last season's sophomore slump: "I couldn't beat New Delhi."

I'm an original owner in this league and it is a lot of fun. Not too uptight and some very good owners involved.

Moscow ace Thabo Mashego, on the other hand, says: "I'm deeply disappointed that I could only win 3 out of 4 against the Bengals. I think I'm slipping." [Thabo is 86-30 for his WLB career]

How do these teams play each other and finish a season in one year?
"An amazing trade between Chicago and Sydney was made just before the deadline. After clearing customs in 4 different countries for connecting flights...43 hours actually in the air, and being held up in Turkey during a terrorism scare....Joe Blow was able to join his new team just before they were knocked out of the playoff race in late september."

I have been in the league 2 years and it is a very good league. The fictional aspect is good because as in real baseball you have no idea whether the guy will be good or a bust.It also is not a league diluted with too much talent where every team has superstars which I like,if you have an ace pitcher you're lucky as there isnt many just like in MLB.I highly recommend it.Sorry about the lack of humor, but tonites my nite off from wisecracks.

I, too, am an original member and can honestly say the league has gotten more solid each year. This team has future WLB championship written all over it.

I was just looking over the New Delhi roster. Actually, there is a decent nucleus for some success soon. There is a ton or room under the salary cap so now is a good time to get in on them while there are some decent free agents to plug holes.
Second round of free agent period is Sunday - nobody signed in the first round so there is some talent, albeit not much, still available.

I gave my team its unoriginal nickname and created its crappy logo. I have named most of the players myself, created mug shots for most of them and shaped personalities for quite a few through the news stories I've written. Over the course of five seasons, it's really made me identify with this team. In a way, it's more real to me than any of the historical teams I've had. And I got to shape the reality every step of the way. It was surprising to me how peculiarly alluring a fictional league can be, if it's done right. I'm glad I've got these Glads.

Ah, we have a winner! If there's anybody else interested in the WLB, we do have a waiting list thread on our message board. It's a great league.
