Emails from Scouts
The last version of OOTP I have is 9, but I have pre-ordered 12 and can't wait for it to come out.
Anyways, I'm not sure if something like this is already available, but would it be possible to get emails from either the Scouts or my Minor League managers letting me know when my minor league players ratings have increased/decreased? Obviously instead of saying "Ratings" they would say something like "John's just not been seeing the ball very well this year. His power numbers are way down and his swing is way off."...something along those lines? I feel like right now I never know when my players ratings change. Are there currently reports that I can run to see ratings changes? This would also utilize the Scouts a little more. Right now all I ever receive are emails about up coming opponents. Thanks |

that would be cool to have the scouts or minor league managers update ya on minor league play development vs checking the report which i hardly do....i believe u asked if there was a report there is...its the player development report. let me know if ya can find it i am in a game right now so i cant screenshot it for ya.

This would be nice for those who play stats only where the player development report becomes useless.
I would at least like to see a notification when a pitcher learns an additional pitch (although perhaps this is already the case and I just have never had a player learn an additional pitch). Since learning a pitch is "instant" it would be nice to be able to be aware of it and act appropriately. |

As one of the improvements Marcus listed is "immersion," I'm hopeful we'll see some movement in this area ...
Like getting notes about major injuries, hot/cold streaks, etc. in the minors. Except for a small number of players who choose to run a minor-league team, "the minors" exists to improve young players so they have some shot at the big leagues. I would like also to see minor league managers play prospects instead of older players; to spread out top prospects so they all get AB / IP without my micromanaging. I would like to see the game develop young players, not adjust a bunch of numbers in a database: So when I designate Pitcher A as a starter-in-training, he works on stamina and picks up at least a second pitch (change up anybody? Can anybody name an MLB starter without a second pitch, even if it's a crappy change up? Mo Rivera is famous for throwing one pitch as a reliever. I suspect a one-pitch starter would attract attention.) When a youngster is designated as a relief specialist, he works on his hold move and a strikeout pitch but de-emphasizes stamina. The game still needs to sort out value for relief pitchers (stop telling me to draft MR ... stop rating MR as 4-5 star hitting prospects). Little things like these would go a long way toward improving immersion .... |

How often do players ratings change (or how often should I be running this report)? |

I'd love to see emails from scouts on development---especially since, for me, I can't get the 'Previous Date' in the the Player Development Report to change.

A 20-year-old guy with one pitch and no stamina is a reliever. I get that. A 20-year-old guy with four pitches and 18/20 or better stamina is a starter. From a player development viewpoint, the interesting guys are the 20-year-olds with one pitch and 20 stamina, or three pitches and five stamina, or my scout says he is a starter and the OSA scout sees him as a reliever. What's the point of finding and hiring an OUTSTANDING or LEGENDARY pitching coach for AAA, with full coaching turned on, if they can't teach any of the kids in the minors how to throw even a 1-level change of pace? Making these sorts of connections between data provided the gamer and results in the game would go a long way to creating the immersion that Marcus is promising, in a player-development tool. |

What database are you using? I haven't had a league yet (probably 15-20 total) without dozens of 1-pitch starters ... I must be doing something wrong ... |
