amateur draft in historical
what i want to accomplish is to have the amateur draft last for 15 rounds for sure every year, understanding that fictional players will be used to fill out the balance of the draft after imported rookies are used.
is there a setting to fix this or how is this accomplished?? i want to make sure that the minor leagues are being filled out enough for rookie ball and that free agency has enough young people to fill out rosters if need be as well. |

I'm pretty sure you can set the amateur draft to any length you want in the League Setup menu.
I wouldn't worry about not having enough bodies. Generally, I find I have an overflowing minor league system after a couple of seasons. Or you can turn on Ghost Players and the minors will always be full. |

If your only objective is to ensure that teams have enough players, you can always use the "fill teams with fictional players" function. Add ghost players for a season or two, and you should be OK. One of the negatives about a large draft class is that, over time, the FA list can get pretty big. So, if you are primarily having a draft in order to draft the historical rookies (instead of letting them go to their original teams), you may find that you really only need about five to ten rounds, depending on the era you are playing.
