I have OOTP for that sort of thing.

The Show, no matter how people try to make it, is not built for simming and playing as a GM. There simply is no point in doing that. The game is built to play, and really play a full season everyday.
Agreed, OOTP gives me my GM fix and also much enjoyment playing out every game.

I buy The Show to play one season with my current Cubs. 09 played a great game of baseball but I have to say this years is much better. Not just the lighting and graphics but the feel of the games and the ball physics.

Don't know what it is but I must be seeing pitches better as I'm finally drawing walks in a video game. 09 I was thrilled to get one in a game and two was a real triumph. With 10 I've drawn as many as 6 and generally end up ~3. For the first time in all of my playing days I'm not last in the league in walks drawn, I'm 28th. Two teams have fewer walks than me.

Like any game MLBTS has it's issues but when using it in season mode I can't find anything that makes me want to put it down.

Don't be shocked if they make it 30 for 30...I wouldn't hold my breath for a winning season just yet.

I moan and groan occasionally, but this is true for me also. I don't want to think about how many years I waited for OOTP while playing stupid video arcade baseball games.

Whatever you do, don't start using hand sanitizer. It is making our immune systems weaker by killing off germs we should be fighting!

Go ahead Markus, put the Purell down.

This has always surprised me. We Americans think of baseball as 'the national pastime.' As a truly, classically 'American' sport. And yet a man in Germany has managed to create the best ever simulation of what 'our' game is.

Every year I eagerly await each new version. I am never disappointed. OOTP brings me countless hours of fun, and helps distract me from the difficult parts of real life.

Thanks, Markus!

Having said that I do know a bit about the industry (I should, since my college major is Games Computing lol) and I get that the bigger companies do have (and need to have) different priorities to someone like Markus.

I totally agree with both of you.

Here's the funny thing, I know of a guy that just can't stand OOTP because it is developed by a German who just doesn't get the nuances of the game because he didn't grow up with it Yet whenever I've asked for examples of what the hell he means I never get an answer, just wow.

That just seems like hating for the sake of it, at best.

Yeah but Germans are like smart and stuff.

And maybe it needed an objective viewpoint.

And maybe our talented programmers were all snatched up by money hungry corporations and lost their mojo.

What you did before doesn't matter. You found your way here, and that's what's important.
