Longest Lasting games

OOTP is starting to get up there for me. My longest lasting game was Railroad Tycoon II. Unfortunately, I bought a new PC that has Vista 32 bit and I can no longer install the game. After an internet search there is no way to fix this problem and my very favorite game for years is dead due to technology before I out grew it. Certainly a first for me.

At least I still have Civilization (Beyond the Sword--modded of course) and OOTP.

I sure wish I could play Railroad Tycoon II Gold again. I miss that game. I kinda bought a new PC so that OOTP wouldn't bog down or crash so much. Well I fixed my OOTP problem. But I lost my numero uno in doing so.

Is there a version of DosBox that's compatible with Vista?

I downloaded it once when I had a machine running XP. Never used it because I put together a machine running a heavily modified version of 98 - it can run almost anything from pre-Windows 3.1 to XP. I can play all of my old favorites on it - MOO, MOM, etc. I hope DosBox works for you!

RT2 through Steam works fine on my Vista 32.

Anyways, the Civ series, Total War series and OOTP series have stuck with me for years and years.

Need for Speed 3: Hot Pursuit. Didnt like Hot Pursuit 2. You couldnt wreck the cops much anymore. And the cops refused to arrest the AI cars to boot. Went back to the older. Once the opposing AI driver was out of the way, I liked to drive back and forth for as long as possible wrecking the cops over and over.

I have Civ 2 somewhere, may have to find it. Alpha Centuri is also a cool game.

Civ 2 is one of the greatest games ever. I once played a game that lasted 8 months - wasn't playing every single day. But was playing at least every week and when I did it was for hours on end.

I'm playing dominions 3 like crazy. It's like Master of Magic, but it may actually be a better game. I can't think of a game that has me as ensorceled. Master of Orion and Master of Magic spring to mind. Maybe some of the Civ games. But Dom 3 beats them all.
