CubbyFan's 2009 MLB Roster Release Thread

UPDATED: APRIL 6, 2009

Here's the updated file as of today with transactions:

NOTE: For some reason you can't remove the online league password (awesome) so I had to just set it to be " " or one hit of the space bar in case anyone needs to change that for their online league.

EDIT: CF V5.0

Enjoy! Most lineups should be accurate including Opening Day rosters/rotations/lineups/etc.

CubbyFan's 2009 Rosters, v5.0
  • Updated service times
  • Changed league totals to make results more realistic
  • Updated hitting ratings
  • Updated pitching ratings
  • Top 30 prospects all included and accurate team by team
  • Correct player numbers for players on a 40-man roster or most NRI's
  • Fixed random freezing bug
  • "Ghost" leagues removed
  • Transactions updated as of 4/6/09
  • Player photos updated for players who have joined new teams

Waivers and DFA are on -- so if you want those off, turn them off before you start. I would perhaps advise to not claim anyone yourself for three days per usual, the computer will try to pass some guys through waivers.

In a previous version already:
  • All 2008 history/statistics added
  • All MLB players re-rated
  • All minor league players re-rated
  • All coaches accurate throughout every league
  • All stadiums accurate throughout every league
  • Updated prospect rankings
  • Accurate salaries
  • Accurate injury ratings for MLB players
  • Real life financials (used 2008 payrolls as a baseline)

Hope you guys enjoy!

Thanks Cubby, great work.

Some things I noticed:
The ballparks aren't correct, e.g. Minnesota playing in AT&T Park
Marlins in Shea

And some Teams like Minnesota, Colorado etc. don't have a exact City.

It's pretty obvious he said in the first post that the rosters were as of 11/1/08. I'm pretty sure this happened a little afterwards.

I will download soon. Thank you Cubby!

Hmmm. On my copy the ballparks are correct. Any ideas what would be causing the difference?

One other small thing I just noticed. The Yankees only have a history from last year, so they have an alltime record of 89-73 and 0 playoffs/championships etc.

As much as id like that to be true....

I have downloaded the roster file into the "saved games" but cannot get past 22% when attempting to load the file for play. Anyone else experiencing this, or is there anything I need to do to be able to load the file? Your help is much appreciated.

I'm new to the game guys and i was wondering if players numbers were meant not to be the real numbers in this roster set.

Mine hangs up at 22% for quite a while too but eventually it loads up and rolls fine.

Cubby, do you set the teams market size and loyalty yet? I noticed that the Dodgers market size was "small".

Mine does the same, minor annoyance but it'll load eventually. I'm going to send the file to Markus to see if he can clean up those "ghost" leagues in there still, so perhaps he can check that out.

Didn't set market size and loyalty yet, I wasn't sure how that would effect payrolls for 2010, I'll give it a shot though and see if I can change them to what they should be without any major repercussions.

Quite the odd problem with the Yankee history (of all the ones to get wrong!) but it's fixable and will be changed for the next release.
